Downtown of OC

Graphix,

I hope that someday that will occur again for your grand children buying the house that your mom grew up in and doors could be unlocked at night again. Many of the area are quite safe and it is just the one bad apple that spoiled the whole barrel. All the bad news reporting in front of the Santa Ana Court House on a criminal trial case commited in Newport Beach or else where in OC.

Bk,

You are freaking scary. I have always thought that, also. Yes, Santa Ana has crimes. But it gets an unfair share of press coverage of cases that didn't even occur within the city.

Having to deal with the local politicians a lot I have learned the trick of the media. Many other prominent OC cities refuse to work with the press because local citizens are afraid that their community will get a bad reputation and affect RE prices. They chase the press out. Santa Ana has too many quadrants and not having a strong local citizen voice group SO many press coverage chose the city for reporting most crime occured in OC.

Getting back to downtown Santa Ana. I must say it's a great locale for taking a leisure stroll. Unfortunately, most stores cater to the Hispanic customers.

Do you know of any plan on having mainstream retailers like Banana Republic, The Gap, Ann Taylor, etc. move into Downtown? That is such a great location.

Hahahah!!!...freaking Laing Lies.....hahaahha.....yes, it's missing the street performers....Hey!....shockingly, there's no homeless that I saw while strolling ....Now, near the courthouse. That's a different story.

When I talk of downtown. I am not referring to near the courthouse. ...There's a street. I forgot if it's 3rd or 4th Street. But this particular street has store fronts on both sides. Really a good location for mainstream retailers.

The Irvine Company has assembled an incredible team that are very sophisticated and well connected politically. Both Dan and Peter are amazing leaders. Amazing projects are in the works along the Bower museum corridor. The 4th street Old Town and the linkage to the Ronald Reagan Federal building would be strengthen with unbelievable amazing retails. Community redevelopment is not an overnight task but soon Irvinites soon can put on their heels for a night on the town at Old Town Santa Ana. Sidewalk restaurants, retail and night life are severely lacking in OC. Segerstrom at is old age of 83 may not see Santa Ana returns to its glorious days before the 60's.

Homes and bad retails along both sides of Bristol street north of Warner up to the College have been demolished and became fenced vacant lots. The beautification project will resemble the Anaheim resort area along Harbor Blvd by Disneyland. Pioneers are the one who take risks like Mike Harrah that could become the next success like Caruso who developed the Grove. We live in a time where re-carnation of old community resurrects before our eyes.

Old Town Pasadena was the case when my business took off during the 80’s the process of reinvention and bringing in retails and restaurants into that neighborhood was a challenge. It was a neighborhood full of drug dealers, porn arcades, hookers and gay bars. Robert Reed the Brady Bunch dad frequented Old Town Pasadena for gay companions and contracted Aids there.

Santa Ana on a lighter note has less of the society blight will have a much easier time to clean up its image and drive out the unwanted shop owners. By raising rent and price them out of the community is one of the solution.

After a long winded paragraph the answer is yes. Affluent retails will take place.

Eva,

There is an amazing Arts and Crafts home in the market for 1.4 million on the northern end of Santiago Street toward the tennis courts by the Santiago park. It was built before 1900's and It is all fully restored. It is a beauty and listed just last week. This home IMO is one of the gorgeous homes in Bkshopr's approved aesthetic list.

hahahah...you got me again! I was about to ask you regarding Bristol Street. The city had widened from 4 lanes to 6 lanes from Warner to Edinger. Now this street project will continue from Edinger to 17th Street. I was going to ask you what's the reason for this project. Is there something in the works? I think you have answered. Thanks.

Oh, I could not believe my eyes. When they demolished my favorite tacos joint near Walnut Street and Bristol.

Oh, you mentioned the Grove in Los Angeles. I love that place. Outdoor shopping but very cozy. I think it's the first mall whereby I had to tip the towel guy in the restroom....Hhahaha!

Wow Reason,

You seem to know a lot about the area. I am the only Chinese in any taco stand in the area. Oops! I am not Bren and I do not have $ billions. Taco stand is my kitchen.

Yes, the street enhancement and widening program will extend up to 17th street at the College.

That is right. The Wells Faro ATM machines are just outside of the restrooms. I think the lady side her name is Carmen and on the men side is Bob. I did some work there and I am very familiar with the retails there. I positioned the third American Girls store in the country there after Fao Schwartz left there. I also placed Cheesecake Factory there after Madame Woo closed her door. My Irish spouse and I watched most of the movies there since the Grove opened in 2002. We spent most of our weekend in LA , Hollywood, Century City, and Santa Monica.

Holy cow!!...ahahahah....Yeah, I believe the restroom is near the escalator. This nice man handed me a towel and I saw his tip jar....hahahah.

No freaking way! My wife and I browsed the American Girls store back in 2002. I dating my girlfriend now my wife. It's a very cozy place even though it's outdoor. I also like the out door Century Mall.

In Glendale, I believe is another small outdoor mall. Very well designed.

Does anyone else find it ironic that when Bk makes a general statement about characteristics of Asians (who all come from collectivist cultures) inevitably some individuals cry foul? What is that?
