50% illegal immigration = overstays on visas
50% illegal immigration = run for the border.

Which problem should we address first?  Both problems are poor people wanting to stay for a better life, however, the run for the border illegals are definitely poorer than the overstays.  Plus they have a darker skin color....which is makes them lesser human beings.

This starts with the false premise that illegal immigration is an inherently bad thing.

it is definitely a good thing If you are an illegal immigrant working at one of trumps resorts or hotels

Your putdowns, on the other hand, need a lot of work.

ART OF THE DEAL!

In December Trump demanded $5.7 billion for 200 miles of border barriers, and triggered a shutdown when Congress agreed to only $1.6 billion for 65 miles of barriers. The new deal contains less than what was on the table originally ? $1.375 billion for 55 miles of barriers along the Rio Grande.

a few weeks ago the funding was $0 and the dems weren't going to budge.  dems just broke their stance on a wall being "immoral" or that walls "don't work" and trump gets $1.375b to prove that a wall works with facts and numbers.  above all, trump gets 55 miles of wall, a ribbon cutting ceremony, a press conference with fireworks, and the dems got zilch - not even daca!

No...the deal was literally $1.6 billion before he shut down the government and now he got $1.375 billion.  55 miles of fencing instead of 65 miles.  There was no deal for DACA before either.  I thought "tough talk" was part of the negotiating process...seems like Dems doing it better than Trump.

Pelosi and Schumer basically goaded (along with Coulter and Rush) Trump into shutdown the government and he did it...got a worse deal and another PR blackeye in the process.

I love that MAGAs can sell themselves the Brooklyn Bridge 10000X and call it a better deal each time.  Pomp and circumstances are much more important than actual results.  Even Hannity is cannot take it this time:

A bipartisan congressional committee has agreed to allocate a whopping $1.375 billion for new border wall construction. That figure pales in comparison to the president's request for $5.7 billion, and it would only fund approximately 55 miles of new wall along a 2,000-mile border. Even worse, if Democrats try to put a lot of restrictions on wall construction, this is not a bill the president will be able to sign.

Trump's gaslighting skills are weakening:

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump wasn't able to cut a deal for a grandiose Veterans Day military parade, but this year, he says he aims to start a new 4th of July tradition.

The only hitch? The "tradition" he says he wants to start in the nation's capital already exists.

Trump offered few concrete details Tuesday when he mused to reporters that it could take place in Washington and it could include a parade.

"We're thinking about doing, on the 4th of July or thereabouts, a parade, a 'Salute to America' parade. I guess it'd be really more of a gathering than a parade. Perhaps at the Lincoln Memorial. We're looking at sites. But we're thinking about doing something that would, perhaps, become a tradition," Trump said.

President Trump reportedly asked former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker late last year whether the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, a Trump ally, could take over the investigation into money paid to two women who alleged they had affairs with the president, among other subjects.

The New York Times reported that Trump requested that U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman be put in charge of the investigation that has since resulted in jail time for former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, even though Berman recused himself from the probe.

Democrats on the House Oversight and Reform Committee announced Tuesday they are launching an investigation into the Trump administration?s dealings with Saudi Arabia after several whistleblowers expressed concern about efforts to sell the kingdom nuclear technology.

The announcement came in conjunction with the release of a report by committee staff that said senior White House officials pushed for the sale of nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia despite warnings from ethics advisers and national security officials to stop.

Can't we just use thoughts and prayers to protect the border? It's what we use to protect our schools.

Trump's Green New Deal: President reportedly considering buying Greenland

The real estate developer-turned-president has reportedly asked his advisers about a potential purchase on multiple occasions.
This land is your land, this land is ... Greenland?

President Donald Trump has on multiple occasions discussed trying to buy the country of Greenland, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

Trump has with "varying degrees of seriousness" expressed an interest in trying to purchase the icy 811,000-square-mile island in the North Atlantic, according to the Journal, citing unnamed sources familiar with the deliberations.

Greenland is an autonomous Danish territory. Trump reportedly told advisers in one exchange last spring he'd heard that Denmark was having financial problems because of the subsidies it pays to Greenland, and wondered if he should buy it. "What do you guys think about?" Trump asked the room, a source told the Journal. "Do you think it would work?"

It's unclear what the price tag for the country would be, or whether Denmark would consider selling it.

Officials with the Denmark's Royal House and the Danish embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to the Journal's request for comment on the talks.

Trump is scheduled to visit Denmark in September.

The United States has previously tried to buy the strategically located country, which has a population of just over 50,000. President Harry S. Truman offered to purchase it for $100 million in 1946, but Denmark declined the offer, the Journal noted, adding the U.S. had also looked into acquiring the country back in 1867.

Technically a part of North America, Greenland is between the Atlantic and Arctic oceans, and between Canada and Europe. The U.S. has an airbase there, which is part of the country's state-of-the-art ballistic missile early warning system and satellite tracking system.

This is a move that I would actually support if he could get it done...but it is a little absurd to think it is remotely possible. Not only do you have to get the American people to approve the purchase, you also have to get Denmark and Greenland to approve it.

I wonder why no one ever thinks about just invading it and taking it for ourselves....
Like Russia and Crimea.

We gots the biggest stick..it should belong to us.

So it would be a US territory like Guam and VI?

Don't think it would happen... not just about ours, Greenland's and Denmark's approval, but also the disapproval of other countries.
