What’s funny but a real problem is the healthcare cost debate never touches on the true cost drivers: physicians and nurse and hospital compensation / pricing. AMA is a cartel and Congress works with them to limit the number of residency slots, which haven’t been increased for a long time (courtesy of my friend’s daughter at a prestigious east coast med school). Insurance companies get vilified yet they operate at single digit operating margins
