"Cry 'Havoc!', and let slip the dogs of war".

100%, my CPA ran my numbers from this year using next years guide program and I got a significant cut.  In fact when we did my taxes he said he had already done dozens of returns and out of all of them, only around 3-4 saw a rise and in those cases it was nominal enough to be called flat.  He is the best and he showed me my numbers, it was a pleasant surprise.

I don?t care who you hired. Did he tell you the new tax law largely go in effect in tax year 2018?

We will see. With this market and economy  I am certainly making more money so that may change things.

But Americans likely won?t see a big difference in their tax returns this spring; the proposed cuts in the bill will show up when most people file in 2019.

?When they?ll really see the difference is a year from March and April,? said Marc Goldwein, senior policy director for the bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

True I won't see immediately (will when i file in 2019) but many will now because of lower withholding requirements implemented currently....

Paycheck bump coming soon -- here?s how much you can expect

New IRS federal tax-withholding guidelines should give millions of Americans higher paychecks in 2018.

An example of how this will affect workers' paychecks
Let's say that you're a single taxpayer and you earn $50,000 per year, paid biweekly. For each pay period, you earn $1,923.08 before any taxes are withheld. When you filled out your employment paperwork, you claimed two allowances.

First, we'll do the calculation based on the 2017 withholding tables, which are found in IRS Publication 15. For each withholding in 2017, a biweekly paid employee's wages are reduced by $155.80. This reduces the $1,923.08 figure to $1,611.48, which is the number used to determine your withholding. Using the 2017 withholding tables, $264.53 should have been withheld from each of your paychecks for federal income taxes. (Note: If you're calculating your own, you can probably skip this entire step. Just look on your recent pay stub to see how much is being withheld for federal taxes.)

Now we'll use the 2018 tables. In 2018, each allowance reduces your wages for withholding purposes by $159.60, so your income is reduced to $1,603.88. Using this amount along with the 2018 withholding tables based on the new tax brackets, we find that your per-paycheck withholding should drop to $168.09. Your paychecks should go up by about $96.44 because of the lower federal withholding called for by the tax-law changes.

Another California city rebels against state's pro-illegal immigration 'sanctuary city' policies

Another California city has joined the fight against the state's sanctuary city laws, which limit local authorities' ability to investigate illegal immigrants' status and communicate with federal immigration officals.

Carlsbad?s City Council voted 4-1 Monday to support the Trump administration's lawsuit against the state's pro-illegal immigrant sanctuary city policies, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

'Sanctuary Cities' Get A Big Thumbs Down, Even From Hispanics: IBD/TIPP Poll

Nearly two-thirds of the public oppose "sanctuary cities." Less than a third say they back the policy, according to the latest IBD/TIPP Poll.

The IBD/TIPP poll asked about support for a policy in which "some cities in the U.S. do not report illegal immigrants who commit crimes to federal immigration authorities."

It found that 64% oppose the policy, with just 31% supporting it.

More interesting, while just 16% strongly support sanctuary cities, 45% strongly oppose the policy.

Every one of the 41 demographic groups broken out by the IBD/TIPP poll opposes this policy, except for Democrats (only 44% oppose) it, liberals (38% oppose) and those between 18 and 24 (48% of whom oppose this policy).

The strongest opposition comes from investors (71%), married women (70%), conservatives (79%), Gen-Xers (74%) and young boomers (72%).

Even Hispanics oppose this policy by a 57% to 39% margin.

Mollie Tibbetts murder suspect ID'd as Cristhian Rivera, 24, living in US illegally
An illegal immigrant from Mexico stands accused of killing college student Mollie Tibbetts and dumping her body in an Iowa cornfield ? after he allegedly accosted her during a July 18 jog and she threatened to call police.

Cristhian Bathena Rivera, 24, was charged with first-degree murder Tuesday in Tibbetts' death, officials confirmed.

The body of Tibbetts, a 20-year-old University of Iowa student, was found Tuesday in a field covered with corn stalks. Her father and two sources confirmed to Fox News on Tuesday morning that Tibbetts was found dead; investigators said later in the day they were working to formally identify the body.
...
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds shared similar sentiments, calling the news about Tibbetts "heart-wrenching," and said that Iowans "are angry that a broken immigration system allowed a predator like this to live in our community."
