Sorry the governor is in charge of the state. The mayor has no say on gun laws.

For example in Tennessee you can carry a gun in your car.

Thanks for making me look that up Eye...just bolsters what we all know is obvious...

The ten most dangerous cities in the United States are:

Detroit, MI Democrat Mayor
Memphis, TN  Democrat Mayor
Birmingham, AL Democrat Mayor
Baltimore, MD Democrat Mayor
St. Louis, MO Democrat Mayor
Kansas City, MO Democrat Mayor
Cleveland, OH Democrat Mayor
Little Rock, AR Democrat Mayor
Milwaukee, WI Democrat Mayor
Stockton, CA New Republican elected last year (voters want change)

Almost half our states are "Open Carrry" states...so what?
https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/terminology/carry-types/open-carry/

It is a problem because people are breaking into cars and stealing guns. Then using them in crime.

It is a shit fuck cycle.

Where did you come up with that little nugget? ...got some data to back up that trend? Legal guns being stolen are feeding the crime spree and gun related deaths in Memphis and St. Louis?  Sure.

Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland shared figures this week on social media showing the number of guns stolen from cars in Memphis.

In the middle of the chart, you can see the explosion of stolen guns starting in 2015, one year after state lawmakers passed a bill allowing people to keep loaded guns inside their vehicles without a permit.

By 2020, the number had nearly tripled.

Memphis Police Chief CJ Davis says many of those stolen guns are used in crimes.

?More than 40 percent of guns used in crimes are stolen from vehicles of law-abiding citizens,? said Davis.

So compare open carry cities with strict gun law cities...No real difference, its not the guns its the criminals and local administrations that control that. It's easy to see that and call it.

But you forgot one thing. Its not the dangerous city in the US.
The governor can cut reallocate funds to and from the city. I think hypothetically send in state patrol/highway police to patrol that area.

Again its a sht show. Trump should of sent troops there, but he didnt because he didnt want the tenneseeee governor to look bad. (I mean the most dangerous city in the US, maybe in the world haha)

(for entertainment purposes only, but it is facts regarding the ranking in the US)

So Trump should have sent troops to Detroit (more dangerous than Memphis) and Chicago and San Fransisco?..as he offered but the Democratic Mayors rejected the help and now are begging for that same offer? You can include Memphis if you want but you recognize that the offer of the fed to send help was correct and was rejected for purely political reasons that cost hundreds, maybe thousands of American lives...good for you.  Call it as you see it.

It makes sense Memphis is the most dangerous city in the US according to the stats and rankings. It is all political
Also, you did not make a comment about how Tenneseee State Patrol could help Memphis. You know why? Because it does not fit your agenda.

So why doesn?t Illinois send in their state police?  Why is the Mayor of Chicago (a democrat) begging for federal help? Will it make Governor Pritzker (a democrat) look bad? If it?s good for the goose?.

But they are not the most dangerous city in the US.

No, Memphis is not the most dangerous city in the United States

WREG News: MEMPHIS, Tenn.? Memphis has been ranked as the most dangerous city in the United States, according to a 24/7 Wall St. study using FBI statistics.

Memphis is also ranked with the second highest homicide rate than any U.S. metro area. In 2019, there were 237 homicides reported. That number climbed to 327 in 2020, which is about a 38 percent increase. So far this year, more homicides have already been reported than in 2020.

New Orleans was ranked No. 40 in crime rates and placed fourth in homicides. Nashville, almost a three-hour drive from Memphis, fell one step behind New Orleans at No. 41 and saw a 29 percent surge in homicides this year.

St. Louis, which had the highest murder rate in the U.S. last year, did not make the ?most dangerous? list. Editors with the publication said that the murder rate is a different measure from ?dangerous.?

Memphis leaders are making plans to reduce crime rates. However, it is reported that the city needs more police officers. According to a tweet by the City of Memphis, MPD is offering a $15,000 signing bonus

I guess the opposite of Irvine.  ;)

Fox News coverage on the most dangerous street in America?
Or maybe the NYPost or WSJ can write a story about this.
(They are both by News Corp)

I find it fascinating when the left has this deranged view of Fox News.  They don?t even watch it but believe it has some magical power over people and opinion.  It is a lone wolf screaming in the hurricane when compared with main stream media. It?s really 10 against one, why are they so obsessed. So what if a story gets less coverage on Fox??.CNN, MSNBC and NYT are covering it like a blanket.
