    real estate commission question

We are looking to sell our condo in Jan and are wondering what the current commission rate is. Is it still 6% or is 5% negotiable. Thanks.

For 87 million, shouldn't you get a bigger pool?

    Real Housewives of OC update

IMO this is the best article written yet about the situation http://www.lagunabeachindependent.com/news/2009/0904/front_page/004.html

    Ladera Ranch

I am by no means an expert in Ladera, but I believe Covenant Hills is the nicer part of Ladera and farther away from the power lines. Right now Ladera is a short sell heaven(or hell). I think you should expect to pay 700-900K for a home in your price range...maybe less depending on if it's...

Am I right or my wife?

fact is the more you make the more you get killed in taxes. At least you can deduct the mortgage interest...so the difference between a 600K and 800K house may not be as big as you may think if you make 150K.

    Ladera Ranch

I would buy in Ladera over Irvine(except Shady of course). You get so much more for your money...newer, landscraping, good schools. I don't get why people like Irvine so much.

I've been waiting for prices to drop and now they are going back up.

the fact is nobody knows if this is a bottom or it has more to fall. Those that think it's going down another 25-50% are hoping it will...doesn't make it so. IMO this may be good time to buy the right property, maybe a foreclosure or short sell. I do think the housing market is similar to the...

    Aliso Viejo vs Ladera Ranch

covenant hills is really nice. Much nicer than Aliso and Irvine IMO(except shady). Newer houses and bigger lots. HOA and taxes are high and Ladera location is kinda "out there"

Irvine Regional Hospital closed on Jan 15th?

Irvine was bought by Hoag and will reopen mainly as an orthopaedic hospital. But there will eventually be med/surg beds used there as well. Hoag envisions it as a satellite campus. Part of the deal for Hoag getting the lease was that they had to have the ER open.

    Villa Del Lago

skek, thanks for that response. I am sorry if it sounded like I was trying to pump that stock. I was just trying to describe how I lost a bundle on investing in a friend's startup.

    Villa Del Lago

excuse me skekie but I was not pumping a "boiler room stock", I was merely stating how I became a part owner of a startup company and so far have lost a crap load of money on it. I didn't tell anyone to buy it. Maybe you're a little sore that Obama won?? Try some deep breathing exercises...
