The Elephant in the room

Yah, Nice anonymous sourced quote from the New York Times, right. ? I heard a guy in the urinal next to me say?? isn?t journalism. Put a name and a face to that quote or have McConnell say it out right, then I?ll believe it, otherwise I don?t believe anything printed in that rag

Only a fifth of the BLM body count...yah, funny.

At least 25 Americans were killed during protests and political unrest in 2020

Findings from Armed Conflict Location and Event Data raise concerns about continued violence during and after Election Day

...by the way all 5 fatalities were tragically, Trump supporter...

Brian Sicknick, Capitol Police Officer Killed in Coup Attempt, Was Antiwar Trump Supporter

Another one of your false equivalency posts. You're comparing all the protests in 2020 to the one *terrorist invasion* at the Capitol.

Someone needs to ban your TI account for fake news. :)

Saw YouTube disabled trumps account.

It?s good to see assholes get their payback.

I?m assuming most business will just want nothing to nothing with guy. The guy is like a walking plague.

Cancel culture. Everybody?s doin it. ;D ;) >:D

Did you forget that Trump is due to stand trial for manipulating his "charity" to pay personal expenses rather than give it away?

If he doesn?t get impeached it means he keeps all the substantial benefits entitled to a president after leaving office and he definitely doesn?t deserve them IMO.

You really think he cares?. ..he gave away over $1.6 million in earned salary over the last four years to charity. No president has ever done that...he doesn?t need the money.

Trump is losing support everywhere. Deutschebank dumped him a couple days ago, and he owes them $300+ million.

Today NYC cancelled all his contracts.

The entire business community and military leadership have given him harsh rebukes. More Republicans in the House and Senate have pledged to support impeachment. All his comms are down after being banned from social media platforms.

And people are waking up and getting angrier by the day. Like I said, this does not deserve any shred of nuance. It was a bloody failed insurrection that was well planned and seditious.

HE?S FINISHED

Maybe that was the plan all along. When he was the boss, GOP members and businesses did not want to stand up to him and run the risk of his vicious vengeance. Now that he is going to be just another citizen, with a lot of people despising him, it is fashionable to gather up the courage and cut-off ties with him.

And their fears were not wrong. See what kind of language he used in the speech on the day of the riots.

Interesting to see how Mc Connell yesterday was welcoming impeachment to rid the R's of their Trump problem.

Today? Not so much. Cocaine Mitch - the gift that keeps on giving!

Here's what will happen.

If he runs in 2024, he'll get nowhere. That said, Trump will get rehabilitated over time - just as Richard Nixon did. For someone who ran an illegal war (Cambodia), had an enemies list,  money laundering, influence peddling, etc, etc, etc, leading up to his resignation -

https://www.nytimes.com/1974/08/09/archives/the-case-against-richard-nixon-a-catalogue-of-charges-and-his.html

...... look at the laundry list of opposing politicians who went to honor the man at his funeral:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_and_state_funeral_of_Richard_Nixon#:~:text=The%20service%20was%20attended%20by,and%20Gerald%20and%20Betty%20Ford.

Until we get a Term Limit Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, don't be surprised to see any of this happening again.

McConnell furious with president, supports move to initiate impeachment proceedings: sources
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/mc...supports-democrats-impeachment-efforts-report

Apparently Don Jr. also under investigation

Lots of speculation there was more planning that went into the coup than previously known
A few posts up, a Trump Cult Follower said that this was only from a NYtimes anonymous source...

It was...please cite the source....Can't?

One source told Fox News that McConnell has not made up his mind about what to do about impeachment, and does not see this as a partisan exercise like the previous impeachment effort against Trump.

Another source told Fox News that McConnell told associates that impeachment will help rid the Republican Party of Trump and his movement.

The New York Times first reported that McConnell was pleased that House Democrats introduced an article of impeachment against Trump.

A source close to McConnell told Fox News that "nobody is pleased by anything."

Meanwhile, other sources told Fox News that there is "no love lost there." ;D ;D ;D

No, Names please..I can make up all sorts of cool pull quotes too...

A Tuesday night report from Axios cited a top Republican close to McConnell saying, 'The Senate institutional loyalists are fomenting a counterrevolution' to Trump.

a New York Times report that McConnell told associates he believes Trump 'committed impeachable offenses' and he?s 'pleased' by the move to impeach him.

His current view follows reports that McConnell never wants to speak to Trump again

McConnell backs the effort because it will make it easier to purge Trump from the party, the New York Times reports.

McConnell has made clear in private discussions that 'now is the moment to move on the weakened lame duck, whom he blames for Republicans losing the Senate,' according to the report.

A source told CNN McConnell 'hates' Trump and is 'furious' with him after the Capitol riots.

...and that is only one article.  How about a name instead of all the cloak and dagger?

Leaking info to the press has been practiced for decades. Not saying it is right or wrong but that's just how it works.

The political people can get messages out and it gives them plausible deniability cover.

It's also notoriously unreliable.
