The Elephant in the room

Impeachment will only solidify the battle lines and really accomplish nothing.  It would go to a McConnel Senate and would die there again.  You wanna suck all the air out of the nescient, already hobbled Biden administration? Go for it!! Lovely healing...They are so terrified of this man that they think they really can kill him and his backers?...They can't. They haven't been able to for four solid years and they have only made things worse.  Bring it, the aftermath will only be more of the same.  :D >:D

That's just a whiny bad faith talking point being thrown around conservative talk shows because they are crying uncle and can't handle the pressure or are willing to acknowledge their own mess.

GOP Congress has been obstructionist and intransigent for over 12 years now.

I don't know what alternative reality says they are somehow willing to meet halfway in the middle when they haven't been doing it the whole time.

There's nothing to lose by impeachment.

Only a fifth of the BLM body count...yah, funny.

At least 25 Americans were killed during protests and political unrest in 2020

Candles and flowers form a tribute to Summer Taylor and Diaz Love during a rally near the King county courthouse, 22 July 2020, in Seattle.

If he doesn?t get impeached it means he keeps all the substantial benefits entitled to a president after leaving office and he definitely doesn?t deserve them IMO.

You really think he cares?. ..he gave away over $1.6 million in earned salary over the last four years to charity. No president has ever done that...he doesn?t need the money.

Not about what he wants or cares about.
We don't determine punishing people based on if they care about being punished lmao. Personally I think he should be locked away and forced to share a cell with Hillary.

Sounds like these "battle lines" have been miscalculated and are pretty weak

Mitt Romney likely to have Republican company in a second vote to impeach Trump

?I want him out. He has caused enough damage,? Sen. Lisa Murkowski, an Alaska Republican, told the Anchorage Daily News Saturday.

?Donald Trump has acted shamefully. He has been in flagrant dereliction of his duty. And he will be remembered for having inciting this and having drawn more division into an already divided people,? Republican Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska said Friday on ?CBS This Morning.?

?I will definitely consider whatever articles they might move,? Sasse said of the possibility the House will approve articles of impeachment.

Sen. Pat Toomey, a Pennsylvania Republican, said he thought Trump?s actions amounted to offenses worthy of impeachment, though he said he was unsure whether one could be convicted of an impeachment charge after they have left office, as Trump would likely to be if the House sends over impeachment articles.

?I think the president did commit impeachable offenses. There?s little doubt in my mind about that,? Toomey said Sunday on CNN?s ?State of the Union.?

House judges on impeachment. Thanks to your favorite person AOC and her majority, impeachment is a foregone conclusion

What the Senate votes on is if he is to be removed or not.

So he is going to get impeached

If Republicans can break their promises and slam in a Supreme Court justice in 8 days, we can hold Trump accountable for an insurrection

Won?t come up in the senate at best, till 1PM on January 20th....hmmm who is president then? ;D ;D ;D >:D

We don't crown anyone in this country. The President works for the people, not the other way around

McConnell is said to be pleased about impeachment, believing it will be easier to purge Trump from the G.O.P.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/12/us/mitch-mcconnell-trump-impeachment.html

Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader, has told associates that he believes President Trump committed impeachable offenses and that he is pleased that Democrats are moving to impeach him, believing that it will make it easier to purge him from the party, according to people familiar with his thinking.

House vote should be finished any minute now.
