President Trump

Cancel culture started with people on the far left who would cancel others for wrong speak and wrong think. When folks on the right would bring up the first amendment, they were told that freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, the very same people are crying foul.

During the Biden Administration, so many people from politicians to people in entertainment (Kimmel included) lied with no consequence because their political affiliation or agenda aligned with the administration's. The administration put pressure on social media companies to censor conservative voices including Turning Point USA. Again, many of the same people now crying foul had no issue back then.
I don’t have an issue with the consequence in a vacuum. If Disney on its own fired Kimmel for what he said that would have been fine. The issue I have with is Trump forcing his FCC cronie to threaten ABC with a loss of its license, which is tantamount to violating the first amendment. The person in charge of the government is using his power to force companies to do it what it wants or else…..

I guess it’s great if your general views align with the side that has the power.

So here is just basic question to our fellow maga folks. Just so I better understand the mentality/thought process.

What is it that bothers you so much (or maybe not you specially but your maga teammates) about gay people that there is a need to put them down and not treat them as equal human beings? Is it just based on your religious beliefs? Why do you care if they get married? Why does it bother you so much??
I’m genuinely trying to understand what it is that the maga crew hates about them. I grew up in a very religious home and I am actually not religious at all. Perhaps that’s why I’m not bothered by things that seem to bother religious people. Is it your religious views that align maga?? Or is it political views? Seems like both.

First, please don't assume that everyone on the Right/MAGA hates anyone. Scott Bessentt (sp?) is terrific at Treasury, and Rick Grenell is a fantastic addition to 47's circle of advisors.

Many of us don't care who sleeps with who, just as long as they are competent. Yes, I'm looking at both former Secretary Buttigiege (sp?) and former WH press secretary Karine Jeanne-Pierre.

As for the bigger questions you've raised, this isn't the thread to continue working through those issues.

There is no evidence that Trump told Brenden Carr to threaten ABC with loss of its license. I cannot even find an article mentioning Carr having spoken to ABC since Kimmel's Monday show. This narrative that Trump is the reason Kimmel's show got suspended is a left-wing talking point to paint Kimmel as a victim and to blame Trump.

Read the Sinclair press release I posted earlier. As a company, they are unhappy with Kimmel's comments. Nothing to do with Trump. Also, it's now been reported that Bob Iger (CEO of Disney which owns ABC) told Kimmel that he needed to issue an apology and a correction but instead of doing that, Kimmel wanted to double down and further attack MAGA in his next show. After that bit of defiance, what would you do if you are Bob Iger?

And next let's ask the MAGA crowd why they beat their wives. Qwerty is seriously interested in the thought process involved.

I chatGPT your post and it agreed with you!
I'm glad we have AI to make sense of it all.

1. “Politicians and entertainers (Kimmel included) lied with no consequence because their agendas aligned with the Biden administration.”

  • True in a broad sense, but subjective.
    • Many political figures and media personalities made statements later shown to be inaccurate — especially on COVID-19, vaccines, inflation, and Hunter Biden.
    • Late-night hosts like Jimmy Kimmel often mocked conservatives and repeated narratives favorable to Democrats. Because their shows are categorized as entertainment/comedy, they typically did not face consequences for inaccuracies.
    • Whether this was because they aligned with Biden is interpretive — it’s more accurate to say they weren’t penalized, and fact-checking/media scrutiny tended to focus more heavily on conservative figures.

2. “The Biden administration put pressure on social media companies to censor conservative voices including Turning Point USA.”

  • Supported by evidence.
    • Court filings (e.g., Missouri v. Biden / Murthy v. Missouri) showed federal agencies and the White House communicated with platforms urging them to remove or downgrade content, particularly around COVID-19 and elections.
    • Judges found that some of this pressure crossed constitutional lines by “coercing” platforms.
    • Conservative groups and individuals (including accounts tied to Turning Point USA) were among those flagged or suspended. Platforms justified actions under their policies, but critics argue government influence played a role.

3. “Many of the same people now crying foul had no issue back then.”

  • Largely true as a political observation.
    • When conservatives were being deplatformed or suppressed (2020–2022), many left-leaning politicians, activists, and entertainers defended or ignored it.
    • Now, with evidence of government pressure surfacing and the possibility of future Republican administrations using similar tactics, some of those same voices are warning against censorship and overreach.
    • That shift is well-documented and reflects partisan double standards.

✅ Bottom line:
Your statement is mostly true in substance, but it mixes evidence with interpretation.

  • There is clear proof the Biden administration pressured platforms and that conservative voices (including Turning Point USA affiliates) were affected.
  • It’s also fair to say entertainers like Kimmel faced no consequences for spreading partisan narratives.
  • The part about hypocrisy (“crying foul now but not then”) is accurate as a political critique, though it’s inherently subjective.

I think chatgpt as a fact checker is great. You can lead it, but you can also ask if you are leading it.....kinda funny in that way.
I'm starting to use AI more and more in everyday life and you guys will be part of my learning.

Morekaos doesn't believe in fact checking. Do th ev Left Violence one that LL started a new thread for.

Edit: Had the fake news twins mixed up.

Why the left lies to itself….🤦🏽‍♂️👎🏽🦄🌈😡

The comforting fiction that Charlie Kirk’s killer was far-right

The left’s embrace of comforting fictions about Kirk’s assassination is understandable. But it is also irresponsible and politically self-defeating. To truly inhabit the “reality-based community,” progressives must not merely spotlight the right’s fantasies, but stand more watchful guard against our own.

I think some progressives’ misplaced confidence in Robinson’s conservatism was rooted in a similar impulse (which is not to say that hasty assumptions about a killer’s motives are morally comparable to apologetics for genocidal violence). And the psychic appeal of the “groyper” theory enabled it to become common sense among substantial portion of progressives, such that the writers of Jimmy Kimmel Live! evidently felt comfortable insinuating that Robinson was a conservative.

Perfectly normal. Not fascist at all. Good thing Irvine doesn’t have a black mayor or he would be sending in the National Guard for package thieves
Well, now that he’s proven this works…🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂👍🏽🇺🇸

Trump’s law-and-order win in DC paints Democrats in a corner

National Democrats and media critics slammed President Donald Trump’s choice to deploy the National Guard to the crime-ridden streets of Washington, DC as ineffectual and unnecessary — or worse, a dangerous sign of creeping fascism.

As it turns out, one week after Trump’s emergency order commandeering local police quietly expired, his action was a lesson in how quickly empowered law-enforcement officers can clean up a city.

Thirty days after Trump’s August order, the crime statistics are undeniable: Both violent crime and property crime have dropped by roughly a fifth, and carjackings alone declined by 37%.
But by embracing the anti-cop faith welcomed by the radicals in their own coalition, they have instead become the party of inner-city chaos, reigning over places where no one feels safe while paying high taxes for the privilege of living on dirty streets.
A Democratic Party that wants to win again should learn from this experience.
Until it does so, Republicans should be grateful that leftists’ burning Trump hatred makes them willing to punish their own citizens while refusing federal help.

And voters in crime-ridden blue cities, whose leaders won’t accept anything with Trump’s name on it, can look to DC and see just what a strong push toward law and order could bring them.

Chat gtp is sooooo awesome. I see why you all rely on it so much to tell you what to think…it’s telling us to kill ourselves…great source code…👎🏽😡😡😡🦄🌈

OpenAI to Implement Age Verification System for ChatGPT as AI Mental Health Crisis Deepens

OpenAI has announced plans to develop an automated age-prediction system to determine whether ChatGPT users are over or under 18, following a lawsuit related to a teen’s suicide. The teen’s parents claim that Sam Altman’s AI chatbot served as the boy’s “suicide coach.”

That's not what I said but I'm not surprised at your response.

Earlier you posted a cartoon that the right is circulating about Floyd protests/looting vs Kirk vigils.

Do you know why Floyd died vs Kirk? Can't wait for this one.
