I came across this article back when I was trying to understand the counterculture phenomenon I was experiencing. Until recently, Sasha Stone was a lifelong Dem and a self-proclaimed liberal who worked covering the entertainment industry. Interesting to read about how her worldview changed.

What I do know is that it was a lie that we were the resistance. We were always the empire. It was a lie that Trump was a fascist. We’re closer to fascism now than we’ve ever been as a country with the Democrats in power. And it was always a lie that Trump World was a cult. What kind of cult leader takes credit for the vaccine and then can’t get his supporters to take it? Wouldn’t they have complied like everyone on the Left? Did Jim Jones allow anyone to not drink that flavoraid laced with cyanide?

The cult of the Left is ruled by fanatics, zealots, and true believers. While there really are people who suffer from gender dysphoria - and trans people do exist, in my view - they aren’t part of the cult of the Left so much as they have become sacred symbols of it. To be a member of the cult you have to be always deferential to the sacred and protected groups. America is still majority white, majority Christian and majority heterosexual nation. That means cult members have to either “cross over” as non-binary or trans to be “saved” or they have to be good allies

That they believe they can control what people think if they bully the New York Times into compliance, or they silence dissent is, well, the stuff of cults. Their latest witch hunt is David French, of all people, a guy you almost can’t even recognize as a Conservative. They think the Times should instruct him and everyone on what they must say and what they must think.

A former witch hunt target at the New York Times, Bari Weiss left with a resignation letter that stated:

My own forays into Wrongthink have made me the subject of constant bullying by colleagues who disagree with my views. They have called me a Nazi and a racist; I have learned to brush off comments about how I’m “writing about the Jews again.” Several colleagues perceived to be friendly with me were badgered by coworkers. My work and my character are openly demeaned on company-wide Slack channels where masthead editors regularly weigh in. There, some coworkers insist I need to be rooted out if this company is to be a truly “inclusive” one, while others post ax emojis next to my name. Still other New York Times employees publicly smear me as a liar and a bigot on Twitter with no fear that harassing me will be met with appropriate action.

Weiss is having the last laugh though as she has been approached to be either the editor-in-chief or co-President at CBS News. If that happens, CBS will buy her Free Press publication at a reported value of between $100-150 million.

Charlie Kirk’s alleged shooter Tyler Robinson was living with a transgender partner who was in the process of transitioning from a male to a female, a law enforcement source confirmed to The Post Saturday.

I'm confident more will come out on this in the next several days. Meanwhile, here's another article where the alleged roommate's grandfather refused to confirm or deny rumors that Lance Twiggs is trans and that there was a transgender motive to Kirk's murder.

Authorities are yet to confirm a motive, but Utah Governor Spencer Cox told the Wall Street Journal that Robinson was, 'deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology'.

Let's see if this shooting gets classified as left-wing violence.

This is so sad how people are all so quick to point who is left or right. Didn't see this when those lawmakers were killed.

And somebody was so fast to say the killer was transgender. Does transgender automatically mean left?

Reality exists whether you like it or not. We are simply following the clues as the story unfolds.

The shooter has antifa slogans on his ammunition, and was boinking another man taking female hormones while dressed as a cat. (It sounds like a joke, but it's not.)

I don't have anything but sympathy for trans people because they are almost universally unhappy and deeply confused. I've seen up close the effect that having children come out as "trans" has had on my extended family members. It is literally destroying their lives, their families, and ruining the mental health of everybody around them that has to try to deal with this "transition" on a daily basis.

The trans children threaten to commit suicide nearly every single day. They are in their mid-to-late 20's and don't attend school or work. They just leech off their parents and play video games all day long.

It is truly sad to witness for everybody involved.

I think you have a double standard. Any shooter from a more traditional background would not be getting this level of sympathy from you.

In fact, I think if it were a violent MAGA follower that did something similar you would be all over it.
 
Reverse the streams… if this was some crazed MAGA gun freak and he killed some liberal star like a Rachel Madow…the left would be going ape shit…but I don’t think conservatives would be dancing on the grave like liberals are now….I for one, would be just as outraged🤷🏽‍♂️

Anyone who murders anyone is bad. What is a "traditional background"?

Did any of you comment on Boelter? What about Crooks? Or Mangione? Maybe I missed it but for this one, you guys latch on these social media rumors and run with them because why? It feels good to call someone trans and automatically associate them with the left?

And don't mistake what I'm posting for sympathy for the killer... it's more of a commentary on how you all are labeling transgenders, liberals etc.

Sympathies to Charlie Kirk's family but all this hero worship it a stretch (and I felt the same about Floyd). In fact, none of you have even mentioned Charlie Kirk before this and now all of sudden it's a tragedy? I hear he helped Trump win the election... why wasn't morekaos talking him up more before? I started looking into Turning Point USA and decided that was just another hot button topic that you guys will defend to your grave.
 
I’ve followed Charlie for years..he did have a big part in igniting the youth vote for Trump. He is one of the best and most respectful debaters I have ever seen. Never shared his stuff here bc this really isn’t his crowd. My kids loved him…they shared his views with their friends often. He was deep, spiritual and intelligent. All the venom about him are lies or coming from Partisans who didn’t even know him but were told he was evil.👎🏽😡
 
I heard the name but didn’t know much about him. Seeing the video of him being assassinated was shocking and then seeing tons of people cheering for it was sickening. Yes, some of that is the algorithm on Reddit but some of it was from people at work (they crafted their statements carefully.. like a back handed compliment).
 
I did not follow Charlie Kirk but know how influential he is in conservative US politics. Like all influential conservatives, there are lies and misinformation about him and what he said. The author Steven King learned this just recently.

What concerns me is the recent trend when people approve of violence or death for people or things they don't agree with or consider "bad". Take Brian Thompson, the United Healthcare CEO who was assassinated by Luigi Mangione. This is not related to politics, yet it is disturbing how many people approved of what Mangione did just because these people shared Mangione's sentiment towards the health insurance industry.

Vance Boelter is another ideolog who was anti-abortion. If you look at the list of people he had targeted, they all had something to do with the passage of the PRO Act in Minnesota. This piece of legislature codified the right to abortion into state law after the repeal of Roe v. Wade.

Thomas Crooks remains shrouded in a lack of transparency. IMO a lot of it looks deliberate. Crooks used the Mullvad VPN heavily in the months leading up to his assassination attempt. Did the FBI obtain his online history from Mullvad? I cannot find any information about this. I remember reading that on the day following the assassination attempt, the FBI cleaned up the roof of the AGR building. A law enforcement official said it was odd since the FBI does not clean up crime scenes. Crooks' social media was quickly deleted but someone had already captured screenshots of information that would suggest a radicalized young person. Over one year later and no official motive disclosed.

People may approve or disapprove of the rapidity and amount of information released by the governor of Utah and the FBI. Personally, I appreciate the transparency. Some people might get triggered because of references to the shooter's roommate as transitioning, but it is an important element in understanding why Tyler Robinson would assassinate Charlie Kirk. Kirk was against the transgender movement.

If you don't really know, why are you selecting these quotes? I've found that many quotes are used (by one side or another) to inflame and many times, they are short quotes that are purposefully cut so that the context is missing. Stephen King learned this lesson recently:

While most people don't like the tone or delivery of these statements, they all ring true.

Most rational people don't care that he's dead. Yes, there was police brutality (bad), but no one on this board would have wanted to live next door to the man. Did you buy a GF memorial candle, wear a GF ribbon, walk in a GF protest, or other acts of support for GF? No? Then, be honest for once. You don't care that he's dead. It's really just that you don't like hearing it said out loud and in the manner that CK said it.

Floyd was not a hero. He was made into one by people who don't care about the facts about the man. Examples "Oh, he couldn't breath....". Do you know when he first said that? When he was sitting in his own car (per the full arrest video). "He was calling for his Mama..." - well, that's true, but "Mama" was what he called his girlfriend, not his mother. There has been untold excuses of Floyd's behavior by those who used his death for political purposes and not addressing genuine acts of police brutality. Thank God for forcing the police to have body cameras as they refute 99 percent of all claims of brutality, and capture the rotten 1 (ish) percent of cops so they can be fired. Don't believe me? Watch the first 5-10 videos on the YouTube channel Police Activity - a compendium of police bodycam videos. Yes, they show bad cops, but the 99 to 1 number I listed above will prove true.

Floyd was a scumbag. Set aside the arrest issues. He was not a nice man - to put it mildly for those who need to be told gentle words. That doesn't mean "he deserved it" or "he got what he asked for". Rodney King was a scumbag, but he didn't deserve his beat down either. Rodney King wasn't Beatified as Floyd was, but we live in different times as you know dear reader. As always, do your own research - not ChatGPT it, and you'll find out just how much of a scumbag GF really was.

He should not be celebrated. True that, and just like the Rodney King officers none of the GF cops should be exonerated.

Kirk told a great number of uncomfortable truths in a manner that offended those whose sensitive ears are harmed by hearing said truths. That's not enough reason to be sniped from a rooftop, and joyously celebrated by many for "getting what he asked for". No one forces anyone to listed to Turning Point USA, or Prager U. No once is forced to listed to Pacifica Radio or NPR. To boo hoo about "bad things said by some" reflects directly to our current weakness understanding and defending the uniquely American idea of freedoms of speech, press, assembly, religion, and other enumerated rights. It's well past the time to toughen up.
