Because Irvine is the best!!!
It could be influenced by other factors. I have one such rich relative. After retirement, she and her husband don't really stay put in a "permanent" home. Rather she has properties (of varying sizes) in San Jose, Taipei, Tokyo, Brazil, Frankfurt. None are really vacation homes in the sense that you'd picture traditionally... some are houses she bought for her kids who live or did live in them at some point, others are close to clusters of extended family. She talks about being a vagabond, continuously circling the world, following her preferred season, mixing travels with extended visits to kids and relatives.Agreed. For rich guys who would only stay in a place less than a month, wouldn't they pick Newport instead of Irvine?
