Microwaved Food Can Give You Cancer

Blackacre,

I think being skeptical is great. . .it is the basis of many scientific breakthroughs. But, skepticism needs to be tempered with realities, facts, and science, otherwise, it is just paranoia.

As a blood-sucking snake that are involved in lawsuits everyday, I can tell you that many cases are brought by attorneys trying to get a quick settlement from deep pockets. There are also a great deal of good lawsuits. I have not looked at the thimerosal lawsuits in depth so I cannot comment on them but with any medical treatment there are risks. You just have to weigh the risk with the harms. For example: the Polio vaccine. Can result in very dangerous side effects but has practically eliminate one of the most deadly diseases in 20-30 years. Worth the risk? I would say so. On the other hand, DDT is much more controversial.

As for why we get colds more in the winter, it is because people congregrate closer together in confined spaces in cold weather. In the tropics, cold seasons occur during the raining seasons when people go inside and get closer to each other.

Finally, my comment on conspiracy theorists was not direct toward you. It is more of an indictment on the lot.

"i guess one of my personality trait is to be suspicious of any claim and try to evaluate both sides before coming to a particular conclusion."

Actually, this is not what characterizes a conspiracy theorist. A Conspiracy Theorist is suspicious of claims made by any body/group/organization that is perceived to be in "power" and automatically discounts their evidence, while lacking suspicion towards claims/evidence presented by conspiracy proponents.

My vote for best chicken skin is when you marinate the whole chicken overnight, then cook it on the rotisserie on the BBQ ... mmmm
