Funny... I thought all the buildable land in Irvine was what keeps prices elevated because you can always buy new housing here.
This is General Real Estate and Mortgage Talk so it's fair game.Did I miss something? Why is someplace in Georgia being discussed in a "Talk Irvine" forum?![]()
If you consider Russians and Poland as Asian as well.

It's good to get perspective from outside the Irvine bubble. He also brings up a good question: Can other areas replicate the Irvine miracle?Panda just uses Talk Irvine to try to get some new buyers for Johns Creek.
I don't think any other area can replicate the "Irvine Miracle" especially not without all the FCB's that Irvine has "name recognition" with and depends on and definitely don't think that someplace in Georgia can replicate Irvine or is even a good head to head comparison with Irvine! Panda is trying to convince himself he wouldn't move to Irvine or even Lake Forest in a heartbeat if someone handed him the keys to a new detached condo.Panda just uses Talk Irvine to try to get some new buyers for Johns Creek.

Coincidentally, everyone that bought in Irvine at the peak are also having buyer's remorse. Sad really. Also Panda was going to live in Irvine... so he's having buyer's remorse.![]()

Your jealousy is sad. Peak buyers in Irvine better off than where you have purchased.Coincidentally, everyone that bought in Irvine at the peak are also having buyer's remorse. Sad really.
are they, if they are rich and live there with their family?Coincidentally, everyone that bought in Irvine at the peak are also having buyer's remorse. Sad really.
Let’s be honest and objective though, buying at the peak of a market cycle is not exclusive to Irvine like you’re trying to imply. There’s a macro cooldown of most housing markets right now. Someone eventually buys the top and will feel buyer’s remorse if they have too short of a time horizon thinking they can make a quick buck and gets caught bag-holding, whether it’s A-class or D-class city and the market has shifted away from a seller’s market.Coincidentally, everyone that bought in Irvine at the peak are also having buyer's remorse. Sad really.
It matters for both because being underwater has a lot of ripple effects for owner occupants. The predecessor blog IHB profiled thousands of Irvine owners that took it in the shorts and lost their homes.Timing matters a whole lot more for investment properties, less so for primary residence.
