Interesting phone call from our leasing office

Wow, must be an East Coast thing... but as a kid I was always banned from playing in the street and driveways as was everyone else I know. By my parents and any adult who saw us. Of course we lived in a house and had backyards. Sidewalks were another matter entirely.

    Inappropriate Relocation

My parents aren't 90 but they do the same thing back East with groundhogs. They leave the fig, apple and cherry trees alone but they love to dig under the garden fence and eat the tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. So my dad baits the catch and release trap and catches a ground hog at least once a week...

Third murder suicide over finances in So Cal

Another murder-suicide over finances in the news. In Orlando area not SoCal. Even though the gated community home at 300kish sounds like an insane bargain relative to this area it seems like a stretch on a Lowe's salary unless he was at least a store/department manager. <a...

Palin will do anything for attention

Glad you agree that comparing the media's treatment of Sarah Palin and Michelle Obama is not the same. Hillary was called far worse than a "slutty airline stewardess". First example that comes to mind.... Newt Gingrich's mom quoted him as calling her a b____ after the Connie Chung...

    Any Spanish-speakers here?

Well it could be "querida" then. My background/work experience is Spain version of Spanish where it wouldn't be odd for someone you don't know well like a store owner, gardner to call you "dear". Like dear/sweetheart/honey/hon are used regionally some places in the US. Despite living in CA I...

    My... How Time Flies...

I'm so not a shoe girl. I don't think I've bought ANY shoes in six months at least including for my own wedding. Hahahaha, that sounds awful I know.

    Any Spanish-speakers here?

On second thought if you are pretty sure its a t sound you heard it could have been "carita". The c sound there would sound the same as the qu in "querida" but the a would sound different from the e. Literally it means little face and you'd hear it in expressions like "esa carita tan bonita"...

    Any Spanish-speakers here?

Querida came to mind for me to. My translation for it would be roughly "dear".

    Real Housewives of OC update

Ok, I'm ashamed to admit I noticed this but.... did anyone else notice Jeana didn't thank her "best friend" Vicki but mentioned all the other housewives and even some of the men on the show? There is some drama there that I'm sure we'll hear all about at some point.

    Real Housewives of OC update

That update on Jeana makes me a bit sad. Of all the housewives she seems like the nicest person. Then again I think of the multi thousand dollar earrings she bought her daughter just this season or last... who can keep track... and her 8k bedroom linens and its hard too feel too sorry for her.

Has anybody experience/hear a tenant willing to pay 1 year rent in advance?

My husband and I did this when we first found our place to rent in Irvine. We saw it and liked it and were disappointed to learn they had already found a renter. We didn't want to get into a bidding war so we asked our agent to ask the owner's agent if they'd reconsider our offer if we...
