I came across this article back when I was trying to understand the counterculture phenomenon I was experiencing. Until recently, Sasha Stone was a lifelong Dem and a self-proclaimed liberal who worked covering the entertainment industry. Interesting to read about how her worldview changed.

What I do know is that it was a lie that we were the resistance. We were always the empire. It was a lie that Trump was a fascist. The cult of the Left is ruled by fanatics, zealots, and true believers. While there really are people who suffer from gender dysphoria - and trans people do exist, in my view - they aren’t part of the cult of the Left so much as they have become sacred symbols of it. To be a member of the cult you have to be always deferential to the sacred and protected groups. America is still majority white, majority Christian and majority heterosexual nation. That means cult members have to either “cross over” as non-binary or trans to be “saved” or they have to be good allies

That they believe they can control what people think if they bully the New York Times into compliance, or they silence dissent is, well, the stuff of cults. Their latest witch hunt is David French, of all people, a guy you almost can’t even recognize as a Conservative. They think the Times should instruct him and everyone on what they must say and what they must think.

A former witch hunt target at the New York Times, Bari Weiss left with a resignation letter that stated:

My own forays into Wrongthink have made me the subject of constant bullying by colleagues who disagree with my views. They have called me a Nazi and a racist; I have learned to brush off comments about how I’m “writing about the Jews again.” Several colleagues perceived to be friendly with me were badgered by coworkers. Weiss is having the last laugh though as she has been approached to be either the editor-in-chief or co-President at CBS News. If that happens, CBS will buy her Free Press publication at a reported value of between $100-150 million.

Reality exists whether you like it or not. We are simply following the clues as the story unfolds.

The shooter has antifa slogans on his ammunition, and was boinking another man taking female hormones while dressed as a cat. (It sounds like a joke, but it's not.)

I don't have anything but sympathy for trans people because they are almost universally unhappy and deeply confused. I've seen up close the effect that having children come out as "trans" has had on my extended family members. It is literally destroying their lives, their families, and ruining the mental health of everybody around them that has to try to deal with this "transition" on a daily basis.

The trans children threaten to commit suicide nearly every single day. They are in their mid-to-late 20's and don't attend school or work. They just leech off their parents and play video games all day long.

It is truly sad to witness for everybody involved.

I think you have a double standard. Any shooter from a more traditional background would not be getting this level of sympathy from you.

In fact, I think if it were a violent MAGA follower that did something similar you would be all over it.

Do you even read what I write?

Anyone who murders anyone is bad. What is a "traditional background"?

Show me where I condemned a violent MAGA follower.

You can't... because again... less bias from me.

Did any of you comment on Boelter? What about Crooks? Or Mangione? Maybe I missed it but for this one, you guys latch on these social media rumors and run with them because why? It feels good to call someone trans and automatically associate them with the left?

And don't mistake what I'm posting for sympathy for the killer... it's more of a commentary on how you all are labeling transgenders, liberals etc.

It all looks different from the side you are on. I didn't even really know who Charlie Kirk was and now all this stuff that is good and bad about him is coming out all over so it's difficult to discern truth from bias. But I found this interesting:

You probably thought that I was talking about Charlie Kirk. Nope. Those are the words of Charlie Kirk. He was talking about George Floyd.

I have no idea if that's true (people here don't believe ChatGPT) but it's a good example of how people will find their truth if they look at it sideways enough.

Sympathies to Charlie Kirk's family but all this hero worship it a stretch (and I felt the same about Floyd). In fact, none of you have even mentioned Charlie Kirk before this and now all of sudden it's a tragedy? I hear he helped Trump win the election... why wasn't morekaos talking him up more before? I started looking into Turning Point USA and decided that was just another hot button topic that you guys will defend to your grave.

I heard the name but didn’t know much about him. Seeing the video of him being assassinated was shocking and then seeing tons of people cheering for it was sickening. Yes, some of that is the algorithm on Reddit but some of it was from people at work (they crafted their statements carefully.. like a back handed compliment).
