What if you won the MegaMillions Lottery?

Thanks to the increased jackpot and the previous post, I need to re-evaluate what I wrote earlier. Winning 250 million wasn't enough to dream about, but I think with 300+ million I can fantasize.

I would buy a house in Malibu, not because I want one, but just because I can.

I would also buy a house somewhere inland maybe in San Diego County with lots of acreage (and by lots I mean 1 or 2)

Since this is a real estate blog, I would also buy some place in Manhattan (again not because I want to, just because I can).

I would give money to the Irvine Animal Shelter because they have employees who seem like they care and animals that seem like they are cared for (and I have met plenty of dogs who have found new homes thanks to them).

I would give scholarship money to anyone who wants to study abroad because that is the best experience ever.

I would donate money to the Newport Beach Library because they have fantastic resources and you don't need to be a resident of Newport Beach to utilize them.

I would also donate money to libraries in less affluent areas because I don't think it's fair that the best free resources are in areas where the majority of the population can afford to pay.

and there are also all of those friends and relatives who could use a few thousand ( but who would want more).

That shoud use up any sort of hundred million dollar winnings

Throw lots of money at the problem of my little sister's unfinished education.

Spend several months doing horribly boring documentation so that I could leave my job without guilt and also without constant "I'm sorry to bother you" phone calls.

Adopt a dog from a local animal shelter to live in my new yard.

Buy a really nice camera and travel the world using it.

Buy some My Little Ponies from Greece.</blockquote>

Whats the difference between greek "My little ponies" and regular ones? Wait why are my little ponies in this convo at all?

Cayci - There are no "I am sorry to bother you" phone calls if they do not have your new phone number.

That wouldn't help with the guilt of leaving them high and dry.

And Grace, I have been collecting MLPs for almost my entire life. I've wanted one from Greece for a long time but I'm not willing to pay for one. (The factory burned down in the 80s so they are now rarer and therefore more expensive.)

Save yourself the couple of months and just leave them a note that reads:

I guess BK didn't give you the rundown on the IHB obsessions:

IHO = 3CWG

cayci = MLP

graph = grumpy pants

AZDave = PhotoshopAndRun

roundcorners = philosophy

usctrojan = PimpMyFam

frank69m = SuperNose

tenmagnet = MIA

no_vas = farming

green_cactus = science

reason = coupons

BK = LV bags / CL shoes

PANDA = PANDA x 3

... and the list goes on and on (apologies for those I missed... this was just off the top of my head).

Like cayci... I would probably still consult for my various jobs... all play and no work makes me... uh... stupid?

What does PANDA x 3 mean?

Random question ... do you guys pick your own "lucky" numbers or do the quick pick? I'm lazy and just go for the quick pick instead of agonizing over what the "best" numbers would be.

I let ghosts pick for me... or God.

Heh... I think based on previous winners, they say the random "quick pick" has won the most jackpots so I go with the odds. Occasionally, if I have time, I'll pick my lucky numbers. I haven't personally played Lotto in quite a while but this next draw I'm going to bust the "8" theory out and see how it does.

What is the best scientific method of picking Lotto numbers?

There is no best way of picking since it's a random event. However, if you pick common "lucky" numbers the odds of sharing the price increase dramatically. Then again, it's still better to win and share than not to win at all. I've heard a bunch of "theories" on what picking strategy is best. My favorite is the claim that since the lottery is a random event, letting the machine pick will guarantee a better randomness to your numbers. Other people swear by the fact that if you play the same number over and over your odds increase over time. I've picked 1 2 3 4 5 + 6 and called a fool cause that kind of pattern wasn't random enough. Whatever floats your boat is fine when it comes to lottery.

Heard a story from someone that a co-worker in their building told everyone with all sincerity that aliens landed in her backyard the night before and gave her the winning numbers. Everyone laughed at her - but then she won the jackpot a few days later. Some of them hung out in their backyards in the evenings for a few days after that ...

I see. Im not judging or anything but it might be wise if you never brought that up again. Its :bug: tantamount to grown women having stuffed animals on their beds :-/

Id pay off the house

Tear out the concrete walkway and drive way, replace it with a brick walk, and a pasadena style driveway

Get rid of the gold color in my downstairs

Rip out the mantle in the dining room

Buy BK the car of his choice

Hire someone to teach me to cook authentic chinese food

Hire a personal trainer my my butt would no longer be like the broad side of a barn

Travel the world with the hubster

Pay for stinkerbelles college

Buy my mother a condo, somewhere not in the middle of nowhere but far away enough that we don't get on each others nerves.

Pay off BK's sisters house.

Spend the rest of my life working for charities and doing philanthropy.

OH YES. I FORGOT. Id buy some air conditioning.

No way. If I'm going to do something that absurd I had better own it with my head held high. Besides, who doesn't know already? My license plate is MLPGIRL. That, and I find it highly effective to mention to folks that the collection is worth more than my car and every piece of electronics I own put together. Several times over.

I fear the infinite loop.

function boolean try(){

boolean success = false;

if(Cayci.isAtOffice() == true){

success = Cayci.askHowToDoIt();

}else{

success = Cayci.call();

}

if(!success){

wait();

If I won the MegaMillions Lottery I would do the following:

Buy a home for mom and one for my dad along with some nice cars

Put most of it away but donate a good amount to some worthwhile charities

Buy a decent home for myself and buy one for each of my current buyers

Buy Graph a pimp home in North Tustin

Payoff BK's mortgage

Buy a home for IR in Irvine

Buy a Bentley for IR2 so he can drive his clients around in style

Buy a home for all the other members who have more posts than I do

I am in good standing. He will pay off my mortgage and buys me another house. The rate that he has been posting I might just fall behind in post count and just end up with paying off my mortgage which I will be more than grateful and not to get too greedy here.

Thank you Trojan.

I have been preparing my list and I want to include buying you a mail order beauty from each exotic Asian country. I know you like Asian women but the ones here make you carry their purse.
