[quote author="profette" date=1222294841]OMG! Pop-cycle...I can't stop laughing! Peter, we've been found out.

I know! I just noticed it...hilarious!!

I'm never gonna pick on POITG again, who knows what else he might uncover ;-)

Hey POITG, did we ever mention our Lunchtime SAG stop? Home of the triple bypass Burger...

I just wish Prof wouldn't insist on getting in on all our Pictures all the time...she's such a show off ....so annoying ...and we've been trying to tell her that elite Cyclists do NOT wear Nurses uniforms on a Bike, why, she's not even a NURSE!! It just looks really silly don't you think? To be Frank, I'm getting tired of it.

Grow up Prof!!

Peetah! Do you know of a local source for DT Competition or Wheelsmith DB14 spokes? I just popped a drive-side spoke and I want to respoke that entire side of the wheel....

Eff call Josh at sand canyon cyclery...tell him I sent you ...he builds wheels..

Oh, and take Donuts for instant service ;-)

The 7 C's are planning a big ride Saturday morning...fully supported by our SAG vehicle, of course. Check back for route information and meeting time.

Nye's Place. 20% grade. Lemon Heights, move over, now there's something meatier!

"When you roll into Nyes Place it's like looking at a wall...and damn near impossible to resume pedaling if you stop for any reason. Hats off to those who attempt it and those who clean it - it's quite an accomplishment."

Wow, sounds like the 7 C's have a new playground. Eff, didya do this? Please post any helpful route details.

I've rode by Nye's Place quite a few times on the way back from Dana Point Harbor. It's a pretty ridiculous climb from what I can tell.

"PINEAPPLE!"

I dun it, but I have a secret weapon in the form of an itty-bitty chainring. I think the average semi-serious cyclist could clean it just fine on an MTB but doesn't stand a chance on a typical road-bike.

Oh, Peter: Shaun from Sand Canyon totally hooked me up. I re-spoked the drive side with 14/15/14's and the wheel is doing great. They didn't have black spokes in my size in stock..... So I now have a 32h wheel with every other spoke silver and black. Bling-Bling!

That's cool Eff! Glad they could help you out...

What size is your itty-bitty chainring? the smallest I have is a 34...do you think I could make that speed bump called Nyes place on that?

If you say no I'm gonna have to try it... :vampire:

I know POITG could do it...and you are a really strong climber too...

I still have this flippin' sciatic problem, I rode the Fixie to work this morning, completely flat and 2 miles and I'm feeling it a bit, but lets all go and try Nyes one Day...I havent wobbled and crashed since I went mountain biking!

I'm a strong climber for a only a short period of time... My muscles routinely write a check that my cardiopulmonary system can't cash.

Come on, Peter! You can't really think I'd let you get away with that whopper? Why, just last week...pineapple!

My favorite hill in Laguna:

PM me when you guys go do Nyes place and I'll come out.

IMHO the funnest Laguna climb is a reverse take on the 7 sisters bluebird/summit climb. You take (from PCH) Alta-Vista -> Mirada - Summit -> Bluebird Canyon. I like it because you get the ocean view and crazy narrow twisty streets. First time up it you'll be telling yourself "this must be the end of this hill" only to round the corner and see another twisty.

I just did it again today. It damn near killed me this time. My chest and upper torso were burning for 20 minutes after. I had to hang out at the little park at the top to recover.

I might need to stop doing it. Pushing that hard is really not good for the body.

Ugh, I've been kind of out of it with my Sciatic problem...

Last Monday morning I set off to do the Backbay, I rode to the Park ( 3 minutes) then all of a sudden, a Thunderstorm, so not only was my Leg killing me I got soaked into the bargain..

Saturday morning I did half the Backbay with one and a half Legs, then today (Sunday) did the same route but felt much better...problem over I think... :red:

Or maybe it was the Advil...hmmm
