~ The IHB, 7 Circles Cycling Club information, upcoming events and Post-ride reports thread ~

Let's do extra repeats on our own little Alpe d'Huez, in honor of Le Tour. What d'ya say?

Last one up the hill buys the coffee...

I'm a little late in posting the report from Saturday, so here's a quick recap. There was a light drizzle and fog when we set out, but it was an otherwise lovely day on the BB.

Motivated by the heroics at Le Tour, we decided to work on our climbing skills. Our favorite spot:

Here's Pete, after a few repeats. Hey, limey, what's taking so long?

And here's Vicstah attacking the hill.

Oh...wait...Vicstah didn't show up!

We were ready for a nice coffee break by the end of the ride. Here's the coffee Vicstah didn't buy:

Vic, consider yourself on notice.

Jealous beyond words.

Perhaps you should avoid reading this thread for a couple of days. The 7 C's + profsis are headed out to Red Rock Canyon. I'm

pretty sure there will be beer w/ the cycling. Given my sister's involvement, there will likely be tropical drinks and hijinks as well.

vic introduced acpmette and myself to that hill at backbay. now she always wants to add a climb (OR TWO) to our back bay loops. thanks, vic.

Saturday August 9 @ 9:00am - Tour-de-Backbay

We'll meet at San Marco Park which is on Harvard between Alton and Main.

Nobody will be dropped, except PeterUK. Showing up late or being named Vic obligates you to buy coffee after the ride.

See you there!

It was great riding with you too POITG!

"hung through the roof" is a new one to me, I'm dying to find out what it means....let me know and maybe I can start using it...

No but Peter had a donut and Prof had a chocolate covered banana with peanuts LMAO. Next ride we should have junk food eating contest and whoever keels over and has a heart attack on the bike ride back first pays (I'll snatch their wallet before the medics arrive).

Don't tsk me, Mr. Magnet. I saw you there yesterday.

[JPG edited to preserve Magnet's delicate sensibilities].

That looks nasty!

The chocolate covered banana and the dude holding it.

Priced Out IT Guy told me it was a real turn-on watching you eat that chocolate covered banana.

Did you do a back-arch while eating that?

Peter will be riding in yet another century tomorrow. Good luck, Pete! We look forward to the post-ride report.

Good luck Peter. The cool breeze should get perfect weather tomorrow.

BTW, I am thinking about doing the "Tour De Beach Cities" tomorrow AM. I will be riding from Irvine to Back Bay and down to Dana Point and beyond. Likely to be an all-day ride, but you can bail whenever you want. Lots of great scenery through Laguna Beach and DP. I will do a full write up if I bring my camera along. PM me if you are interested.

Have a good ride POITG!

I usually do the Irvine to Back Bay, Newport Coast, Laguna Beach and back to Irvine ride (about 35 miles or so). Would love to see how long your ride is. Be careful on the PCH past Laguna Beach & 133. It gets pretty hectic down there.

:)

POITG that sounds like a nice ride, wish I could join you but I'm working tomorrow..Cool Breeze was last week but I haven't had time to write the post-ride report yet...

Actually, we we're thinking of doing something similar over the Labor Day weekend if you're interested..how 'bout you Vic?
