So what does one do with shrimp paste?

havent been there yet but from all the intel reports, sounds like shrimp paste might actually make the area smell better.
 
That stuff smells HORRIBLE!



You can even smell it, fully sealed and a few feet away from you... yuck!



Now with the added info of how it actually comes to be... double yuck! :sick:

As your roommate, who, upon discovering said shrimp paste in the refirgerator last night, sealed the paste in 2 ziploc bags so as to not contaminate the fresh produce; I think the highest and best use for the paste would be to sacrfice it to the landfill gods in a ritualistic ceremony that consists of christening a newly returned-from-the-curb WM storage container with the wholely sealed contents of the shrimp paste.



I would be more than happy to perform this ceremony at your earliest convenience. The sooner we appease the gods of stench, the less angry they will be.

What to do with shrimp paste? Find the receipt and return it. :p



Either that or throw at the person who made you smell it :)
 
Now, not all Asian eat shrimp paste, just like not all Asian like Durian.



To this day, I still have not acquired a taste for Durian....if you think shrimp paste stink, try Durian.
 
How does this ranking work???? I am not living with parents....I wish....no rent and someone to cook and clean for me. ;-)

You know, ten years ago, I was okay with eating shrimp paste. But now, I wouldn't even want to have it placed on my table for fear of the smell. Just imagine how bad your breath will become after eating it.



Although I'm happy that I'm still able to eat durian, fish sauce, and duck eggs; I can also see why many Americans would be repulsed by them.



I think it's a positive thing that Hispanics and Asians in California are becoming more Americanized. But I'm also glad that California is not as monocultural as it was 20 years ago. [Who would've discussed shrimp paste then?]

Smart strategy for you IAC renter. You have total privacy like living in a detached house. The people living above, below, adjacent and across from you left because of your cooking.
