fat amy hosted the mtv movie awards  last night.  i watch them every year. the skits they do are great.

Jack Reacher - 6/10 - Decent action flick, with elements of CSI and conspiracy buffs.  Decent acting overall, worth a look if you don't have anything better to do for 2 hours, and want to see Tom Cruise kicking ass and Rosamund Pike looking nice.

Yeah... have to avoid my movie fan sites because people are posting spoilers for Iron Man 3 (and Star Trek).

Speaking of Tom Cruise... anyone watch Oblivion? We want to watch it but not sure.

I saw this in Taiwan while I was there last week.  I had 8 hours to kill between the time I had to check out of my hotel and the time when my airport shuttle would pick me up.  I would give the movie 6/10.  Some things didn't make sense, some things were too predictable.  Overall, it was a good way for me to kill 2.5 hours.  Watching movies overseas was an interesting experience for me.  First time I had watched a movie with assigned seating.

Mrs. IR2 and I saw Oblivion last week... our first date night w/out the kids in nearly 3 months. Had been wanting to see the film since last summer, when the cast and crew invaded our "secret" family vacation spot. We liked it, but I'm about as critical of movies as Rolling Stone.

"Kumare" on Netflix. Had expected a bitter ending but everthing was handled with dignity. 8/10. An interesting hour or so if you have spare time.

Oblivion 8/10
An 8? Without spoiling it... why?

The storyline was just different than your traditional action movie and I found it to be pretty enjoyable. Also, any movie with Olga kurylenko automatically gets at least a 7

Not rating a movie, but what the heck! Iron Man 3 releases in India already, and I have to wait for another week?? :/

Iron Man 3 - 5/10 - weak story, butchered villains' storylines, but great special effects.  Typical summer blockbuster action flick.  If you already know anything about the Mandarin and Extremis, you will most likely be very disappointed with the movie version.  If not, enjoy!!

Silver Linings Playbook 9.5/10

What a great movie.. great cast, superb acting, skilled camera... go see it.. and most important of all:  it passed my "I did not fall asleep while watching it with the wife test"... period..it's that good

Yeah... I saw in the theaters... it was a little strange at first but then it grew on you once you got used to everyone's mental quirks.

Have you seen the alternate ending?

Umm.. reason to watch is the man in high heels  :-[

What to expect when you are expecting - 2/10
So, one of those days when I want to assert my gender rights.. watched it while working (this is a big thing with software engineers- all those ladies tell me how they watched a movie while working, or while on a conference call. I am not that skilled in multitasking) Anyway, it's a story of women pregnant/ miscarried/ adopting. After a long time watched Cameron Diaz, and J Lo. There are cute moments, but the cliches out weigh the cute..

Just found out J Lo is called voluptuous  ??? 5'5" and 123 lbs? I have no hope of being thin ever in my life..

Frankly, you can't believe a single measurement provided for actors or actresses.  It's all PR.

I've seen heights published as 5' 5", 5' 6" and 5' 7" seen weights ranging from 121 to 124 and seen measurements (the most consistent) of 34C - 26- 40 or 38.

So unless she's hollow like a cheap chocolate easter bunny or completely lacks any tone, I seriously doubt the weight.

That's what I thought.. 123 sounds too low to be true. Her body doesn't look the number.

I used to know a woman of mixed Hispanic/Persian ancestry when I was younger.  She was shorter at 5'4", J-lo type body, chronically fighting to stay at 140.  That's at 5'4"...
