Is the gigantic IMAX screen hard to watch in regards to following the action? I watched an IMAX movie many many years ago and I remember having to turn my head frequently to catch all the stuff going on in different ares of the screen.

we watched dark knight at spectrum imax and it was amazing.  not hard at all to follow but you have to go as far back as you can go.  the best seats in the house are the dead center top middle but they are reserved for handicap.  the trick is to wait by them and if no handicapped person comes before end of trailers, they allow anyone to take them.  nice thing is that its just 2 seats with no one next to you

First, I would ask "what movie?" then I would ask "where did you sit?"

For example, I saw a 3-d movie in IMAX (Tron Legacy) and it wasn't that great cause you are way too close to the screen for 3-d.

Also, I think where you sit in the IMAX is much more important than a standard theater.  I would try to get as far back as possible while also staying in the very middle.  I can see how it wouldn't be as enjoyable if you are on the side of the movie and trying to look all the way to the other side.  But being further back might help with  this (plus then you aren't looking up too much)

For us, we were probably five rows from the top, very close to the middle.  And didn't have a problem following at all.

We never went all the way to the top, nor did I even think to look up there, so not sure if there were people sitting in the handicap.  How do the handicap people get to those seats?

oh and I would recommend seeing Batman Begins before this one.  Some of that stuff comes up but it has been at least 5 years since I have seen it, so I was kinda rusty and wished I watched it first.

I was suprised Matthew Modine was in this.  Haven't really seen him much except for that "Too Big To Fail"

The Dark Knight Rises - 6/10
Yeah... I don't really like what Nolan did with Batman in 1 and 3... the whole importance of Gotham is too ridiculous. At least in 2 it was basically Batman vs. bad guys... much better. I think because I'm such a fan of the comic book version of Batman... the Nolan-version just doesn't cut it... I'm actually scared to see what he does with Superman in Man of Steel next year. Quite frankly, I rate the Schumacher Batman movies higher (what?!?).

The Bourne Legacy - 7/10
This one dragged on a bit but Jeremy Renner makes a good action star. It also felt a little incomplete as I thought there would be more after it ended. We re-watched The Bourne Ultimatum (the 3rd Matt Damon movie) the next day and I prefer his movies... more action and more spycraft.

I wish I could watch The Expendables 2... but I'll have to wait for DVD on that one... Mrs. IHO will only watch certain action films (she likes Renner and Damon).

"Failure to Launch"

Meh. 3 out of 5.

I hate to say it but SJP would be more convincing in her role as a seductress-for-hire if she were... uh... shall we say... a wee bit more attractive?  :-X A sweet talkin' southern charmer like dreamy Matthew McConaughey would never be tempted by a woman of her... caliber...in real life.

I became distracted mid-movie with pervasive thoughts of: "What am I going to do if my boys are 35, living at home, and loving it?" I know TI is a predominantly Asian crowd where multi-gen living is totally acceptable, if not customary... one where the entire point of the movie may be lost. However, we're of a different culture where it's not so cool. Various parenting philosophies and techniques, real estate value trajectories, elusive retirement, and economics rattled through my brain the rest of the film. One day, I would like to be able to walk around naked in my own house again just like Terry Bradshaw's character. It's funny how once you're a parent you can easily identify with the parental role in a movie... even if the character's parents are the same ages as yours.

"Dead Again"

3.5 out of 5.

It was a fun film the first time you watch it, but now that I know the hook, it's kinda long. Still highly recommended if you've never seen it.

On my list:

"Shallow Grave" - not a Horror film like the title suggests. Haven't seen it in some time. Trying to find a copy. Was an interesting film.
"Hugo". Loved the book when my kids floated it up to me. Missed the movie in theaters.
"Inglorious Basterds" - Everyone says they loved it, even with the hyperviolence.

The Hunger Games 3/5

Having read the book, the movie moved at such a fast pace.. a really condensed version of the story.. nothing fleshed out.. Of course the book was a first person narrative, so you lose all the personal thoughts/character of Katniss.  They should've gone Lord of the Rings with this.. at least 3 hours to truly develop the story.  Katniss and Peeta were cast well, just wish it had more story instead of the cliff notes version.

Can't wait, must've been fun to go to Uni with this guy

The Three Musketeers (2011) - 5/10

I usually like Alexandre Dumas material, but this one was bad... I expected more of the Resident Evil director. It seemed to showcase Milla Jovovich more than the Musketeers (figures since she's married to the director).

Can't believe Orlando Bloom was in this... and that the Charlie Sheen one (1993) was better.

There are some other Musketeer movies out (one asian martial arts inspired) so I'll see how those are.

Spielberg film "A.I." Slow, but meant to be. A film that asks "what is mankinds responsibility if it builds a robt capable of love"? I liked it back when it was in the theaters and it holds up well.. 8/10

Pitch perfect - the movie was hilarious. Lots of good laughs. Rebel Wilson is funny elkust about every time she is on screen

8.5-9/10

The Notebook was on TV recently. I've verified I'm the only female in the world who hasn't watched it. I did read the book back when it came out. It had no effect on me. Super cheesy. Completely forgettable.

I decided to give the movie a chance and hit "Play". After all, people love it. It's got to be good stuff.

I couldn't make it through 6 minutes.

I feel like I'm obligated to try again. It'll probably sit on my DVR for a year and a half before I delete it without watching. That seems to be the trend for me.

I think you are the only straight woman in the world who would turn off a Ryan Gosling movie at 6 minutes.

The guy does absolutely nothing for me. Given the opportunity, Twinkle Toes would be placed directly into the Friend Zone with all of the other overrated "heart throbs"... I'm lookin' at you, Taylor Kitsch, Leonardo, David Beckham, Brad Pitt, etc. with Gosling being the biggest turn-off of all those listed.

I am officially the last woman in the world who hasn't watched Notebook then. My mom watched it and couldn't stop raving about it.. Ryan Gosling- no, does nothing to me either. He looks like a whiny pup to me.

Watched First knight. 6/10.
Highly not recommended for TI crowd  ;D

Well. Speak of the devil. Chanel's new ad came out today with its first male spokesman in the company's history.

Pity. I'm a Chanel fan.

He says: "Hi. I'm Brad Pitt and I haven't had a bath in days."
