Argo 5/10

More like Slow-go to me. Maybe it was lingering effects from Thanksgiving but I think I fell asleep twice. I think the fictional add-ons were  unnecessary and they should have gone more into the details of the collaboration between Canada and the CIA.

In Theatres: Les Miserables 7/10

You really have to like musicals to like this, every word is sung. It started a bit slow for me but I liked it... but one of my favorite movies is The Sound of Music... so YMMV.

On DVD: Resident Evil: Retribution - 8/10

Yeah... I like the RE series (except for #2). Lots of action and zombies... and women who can beat up anyone.

The Upside of Anger circa 2005, aired on TV
1/10

Her husband "takes off with another woman" so she starts messing around with Kevin Costner's character - who, by the way, isn't remotely sexy anymore, if he ever was and that's a big if for me. Worst ending ever. Her husband didn't leave her. They find his shriveled corpse down a well in their backyard. He fell while taking the dog pee-pee at night. Come on, Lady. His belongings were still in the home. She could have at least looked for him.

SoCal really wants to see "This is 40". If you see it, let me know how it is. The T.V. spot where he says he'd kill his wife with a wood chipper kills me every time. (Pun intended.) I think any of us who have been married a long time have had the same conversation. Hmmm. We should start a thread.  ;)

Looper 7/10

Felt like a low budget sci fi.. ala Equilibrium... but not too bad.. strong acting throughout.. blunt, willis, and the gordon kid.. story does take a turn when willis arrives.. yippe ki yay

Catching with up Doris Day movies.. watched Do not disturb and Move over darling. Both are on Netflix. Light hearted and funny. 6/10..
I didn't know Doris Day sang "perhaps perhaps" originally. (heard it in a Chinese movie, and then in Coupling)

I liked His Girl Friday too.. 8/10!
Any old movie recommendations? (should be on Netflix)

If they look chubby to you... I'm in trouble.
I could never understand the Gosling effect though.
I didn't either, until I saw Stupid Crazy Love. And yes... I did see The Notebook before that... maybe it's a slow burn.

JGL? Really?

I'll agree on Jake... how about the Hemsworth brothers... Chris and Liam (Luke... not so much)?

JGL! He's so cute, even though he looks 22.

I'm eh about the Hemsworth brothers. One of them was Thor, right? And there's a Luke? They just keep multiplying. It's like the Baldwins.

And I also do not understand the Gosling effect. And I haven't seen The Notebook, either! It's been in my Netflix queue for like 3 years. I just keep moving it down. Haha.
