I watched Back to the Future today. 10/10. Still a great movie and one of my all-time campy favorites.

Oddly, I noted that TODAY is the future from that movie!

The Grey - C

I like Liam Neeson but this movie is hard too watch...here's my summary..

"Plane crash!, we survived!, wolves!, munch munch snarl, blood in snow, repeat."

What a way to die.. worst was the guy who fell off the tree and saw an image of his little girl...but then it was actually...

I saw this movie recently. I thought it sucked.

I thought it was weird that Liam Neeson would be in a snow-themed movie so soon after his wife died after a skiing accident...

Red Tails 6/10

Nothing special..i'm no military expert but can a fighter plane blow up a destroyer with just machine gun bullets?  Memphis Belle is still the movie that captures this genre best...

Just watched "Fast Five." This was my husband's pick (we alternate) so I did not have high hopes. It wasn't as bad as I expected. (It's always good to go into a movie with low expectations.) I thought it had some plot holes and it wasn't very realistic. The Rock and Vin Diesel were both in it, which was interesting because I always kind of thought they were the same person. Just kidding.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes caper movies, action, racing, and doesn't care too much about plot.

Not movie but both on netflix and both awesome.

Sherlock

Downton Abbey

Didnt realize BBC made such good shows

Saw it opening day with the kids...

Spiderman: The Reboot  - 7/10

First off, not a very kid-friendly movie... stick to Madagascar 3 or the upcoming Ice Age 4.

Secondly, better in some parts than the Toby Spidey (I liked that they kept the mechanical web shooters) and Garfield(?) really looks like Peter Parker from the comics.

There was some cheese, not enough humor... so the drama was a bit heavy.

The Killers on EpixHD - 1/10 - seriously a horrible movie.  the plot sucks, the acting sucks, i want my 90 minutes back!

Are you talking about the one with Ashton Kutcher? I liked it... much better than the Cruise/Diaz Knight and Day.

RKP - Season 2 of Sherlock was terrific. It's on ITunes, but my guess is that PBS will re-run in advance of Season 3 come September.

John Watson is going on to play a Hobbit with the other being the baddie in Star Trek 2.

Savages - 10/10. Blake lively in a threesome. Do I need to say more?  It was actually a very good movie, goes by very fast. Quite gory though, I guess that is a good representation of the Mexican drug cartels

Dark Knight Rises 9.5/10.  Some little minor things I didn't like, but still wanted to go back and see it again right after cause I feel like I missed some stuff.  Its hard to compete vs. The Dark Knight with the Joker, but this movie did feel totally different which was great (rather than a repeat like Hangover 2 was of Hangover)

PS. See this movie in IMAX, only so few full length films are actually filmed using IMAX cameras and this one looks amazing in it!  Also, only see it at the Irvine Spectrum IMAX. Its the only real IMAX in OC.  Good article from Ebert on that: http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2009/05/thats_not_the_imax_i_grew_up_w.html

Tried to add this as an image but its not working, but it shows you a major difference between the real IMAX's and the smaller ones like Aliso Viejo, the Block, Gardenwalk etc.

Netflix documentaries that are all above 8/10 as far as documentaries goes

1) waiting for superman
2) fresh
3) The Making of South Park: 6 Days to Air

@26:

Is the gigantic IMAX screen hard to watch in regards to following the action? I watched an IMAX movie many many years ago and I remember having to turn my head frequently to catch all the stuff going on in different ares of the screen.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi 7/10...would've ranked higher but it caused some major sushi cravings that I know I won't be able to satisfy with what's around me.  Highly recommended for all sushi fanatics but be aware you will probably never get to taste Jiro's creations.  Kinda like shopping for homes you can't ever afford, why bother?
