Quail Hill Center. Status on Closures ?

I went by last week for a glass of vino and they were closed ?

Like last Thursday/Friday Night.

Last night I was at Maki Sushi for dinner with my son. Note: Good Bluefin Sashimi !

Noticed Bacchus was still closed at about 8:00 PM. This time the Ink Sign on the Easel said.

"Closed till further Notice".

Looks like inside all the inventory is intact.

I wonder if its the "ABC" again or if they are in distress and about to shut down

for good ? I know its been slow for them. And the selection has gone WAY DOWNHILL

as far as the wines they offer to pour by the glass.

Its not a great place but was sure close to home and a good place to meet people or

just relax for a happy hour wine after picking up the dry cleaning.

Figure somebody here might have the "Skinny" on the status of the business.

No Japanese here. Very Korean.

Plenty of beer flowing last night behind the sushi bar.

So a few freebies for us guests. Its not my favorite sushi place.

That would be Shin in MV.

But Maki is close to home and pretty consistant as far as quality.

I am also curious about Bacchus's, but have no inside info. I did see the same sign last week. Curiously enough, I was on the way to get bluefin sushi when I saw the sign. Haha!

I saw the same thing when I picked up my Red Brick Pizza on Friday evening. It has always looked like it was slow for them though and I'm sure their rent is through the roof.

They make a couple of good Poke bowl/poke salad choices. Moderate price, but they were very fresh. Good service.

Well I guess I will respond to my own thread to give it a bump.

Dropped off some dry cleaning a couple doors down this morning.

Looked inside Bacchus again. Looks like they are clearing the store out.

Dont see much inventory on the wine racks any longer. So one would assume

that they are closing permanently. Bummer. When I fist moved to Quail Hill

in 2006 their business was booming. Live Jazz a couple times a week and

a really nice local crowd. It will be missed. Good luck to the owners.

Better times will return.

What will open in its place:

- $1 store

- pawn shop

- McD

?

Would would you like to see open there? My picks:

- Yardhouse

- Hooters

- Barnes and Noble

That space is way too small for any of those. Maybe a Panda Express or a Subway would fit.

Its about 2500 Square Feet. But a nice location for a restaurant.

Panda Express. I dont think so.

That would PO the lady that owns the Chinese Restaurant across the way. Crystal Jade.

I am going to bet it sits empty for months.

Then it will be some new Smoked Hot Dog or Bar B Que place.

Obviously - another restaurant.

The parking lot is so full at lunchtime, every day, that you can barely find a place to park.

It would be an ideal location for something like "The Counter" - there are no good burger places nearby.

Well... TIC really doesn't care about competing tenants even if they say they do. They'll put in whoever can pay for the lease.

Yeah... that or some burger place. The mix of food is pretty good there... although I probably wish Red Brick had some pasta dishes since Lucca is more upscale Italian.

And I still wish they had one drive-thru "bad for your health" place... I realize it's Quail Hill... but it wouldn't hurt to have some type of fast food joint closer.

The shady residents would love a 99 cents only store at that center, I met the owner David Gold at a commercial lease auction a couple of years ago and commented to him how many Mercedes and BMWs I've seen at 99 cent parking lots and he proceeded to rattle off a long list of rich and famous who are his regular customers.

You beat me to posting what I read on the Register online.

I went buy again this morning after getting coffee and hanging around

at Starbucks making a few cell calls. Looks like they are slowly moving everything out.

Just the Wine Racks and Bar Furniture left now. I wonder who the next victim in Quail

Hill Center will be ? My guess is Lucca.

Lucca's breakfast is sub par, but overall Lucca is crap. I'd rather eat at the Arco station.

Lucca's weekend breakfast isn't exactly gourmet, but at least they don't force you to pay >$30 for brunch.

Last time I was there for breakfast, I noted that there were more employees than customers.
