Protest, Riot, Curfew

Not sure how you don?t end up with injuries with a knee to the neck for 9 minutes. There would have to be some bruising I would think, perhaps that doesn?t constitute an injury.

Does he die without the knee on the neck? We will never know.

Did he die with the knee on the neck? Sure did.

While he may have actually died from the drugs in his system, the common juror is pretty stupid. So you would think the could be easily swayed given the guy literally died with the knee on his neck. With that said, history has shown cops get extreme leeway in these situations and let?s not be blind to the racial aspect of this either, a white juror can easily hang the jury.

As others have said, what has happened this past week is going to look like a cakewalk if this guy gets off.

During the Rodney King trial, community activists openly threatened society and the jurors by saying if the officers are not convicted "it will be a long hot summer." The activists were right, LA burned when the officers got acquitted.

Overcharging is the leading cause of acquittal. The important thing is to get a conviction with prison time. Don't worry about the length of the sentence, this cop won't live long in prison. If the officers are acquitted, the country will explode in violence. Trump will then smash the uprising and win reelection by a landslide because the people will hail him as their savior.

I'm officially a protester.

Drove down Alton next to City Hall (it's a little dangerous there because it's dark and the protesters are actually in the street and you don't want to hit them).

Not gonna lie... honking that horn felt cathartic.

Then I went home and looted my freezer looking for ice cream... started to riot when I couldn't find it. :)

Soylent Yellow (and others....) OMG we have to send money to bail out these Rioters Protestors....

Me: Why not let the Justice System figure out who the rioters are and who was arrested in error?

Soylent Yellow (and others) BUT BLACK LIVES MATTER!

Me: Um... not an answer, but OK. Here's a list of Black Owned Restaurants and small businesses. How about you direct some of your money to these folks who are in real pain rather than rolling the dice and letting potential anarchists out of jail? I've been to several of these places and...?.

Soylent Yellow (and others) BLACK LIVES MATTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is no longer about justice for George Floyd. This is not about Police Brutality or Racial Disparity. It's now all about how Virtuous your Signal is and little else.

PS - If any readers need a list of Black Owned Restaurants, the LA Times is maintaining a list.

Some businesses have websites and can overnight things you buy from them.

Rioters depend on the goodwill and restraint of ordinary citizens and the authorities to make rioting possible. During the 92 riot, rioters would jump out in front of moving cars and when the driver stopped, the rioters would pull the driver out and assault or kill him. Why would anyone stop for a rioter? The answer is because most Americans are good people who would never hit someone with their car no matter the danger to himself. Rioters take advantage of people's goodness to attack them.

The protesters say that most of the protests have not involved rioting/looting... so why punish them? Do they not understand that they are trying to keep it that way?
If they say that SOME of them are rioters/looters, their protest is not peaceful, thus illegal.

I think the stay-home-order and a planned curfews are different.

The lockdown without knowing how long or any details on it is pretty frustrating for everyone and it's wholly based on an uncertain disease called C-19 in this case. This one is very uncertain for every aspect.

The curfew is usually for like 8pm-5am kind of a thing for a day or two. It's also clearly to protect human lives from being harmed of robbery and looting in this case. There is no uncertainty on this at all.

Stay at home, social distancing, masks, etc has now become a joke, after the crowds went out to the streets.

NBC News: Three men connected to 'boogaloo' movement tried to provoke violence at protests, feds say

Federal prosecutors in Las Vegas have charged three men alleged to be members of the far-right extremist "Boogaloo" movement with multiple state and federal violations of conspiracy to cause destruction during protests in Las Vegas, as well as possession of Molotov cocktails.

The movement, which says it wants a second civil war organized around the word "boogaloo," includes groups on mainstream internet platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Reddit, as well as fringe websites including 4chan, according to a report released Tuesday night by the Network Contagion Research Institute, an independent nonprofit organization of scientists and engineers that tracks and reports on misinformation and hate speech across social media.

Federal prosecutors allege that the three men, at various times and not always together, discussed various plots to either destroy an observation station at Lake Mead, near Las Vegas, destroy power substations, throw a smoke bomb at a ReOpen Las Vegas rally and other attacks.

The plan was for Parshall and Loomis to "firebomb" a power substation to distract law enforcement so they could carry out their plan to incite a riot, the documents say. The plan was ultimately dropped in favor of a new plan, and the trio, along with the informant, planned to take Molotov cocktails to a Black Lives Matter protest, instead, according to the complaint.

But because the FBI was monitoring all of the planning through the confidential source, the documents said, it was able to stop the plan from coming to fruition when an FBI SWAT team deployed and arrested Lynam, Loomis and Parshall.

Lynam and Loomis appear to have left sparse social media footprints, but pages that NBC News was able to trace to Parshall offered some clues to his leanings.

Facebook appeared to have been an important factor for organization. According to the federal complaint, all three indicted men were part of a Nevada Boogaloo Facebook group and met at ReOpen rallies, which were organized on Facebook.

In George Floyd?s case, supposedly body cam footage has one officer saying he has no pulse we should turn him over, the lead officer rebuking saying we keep him this way and continuing the knee on neck for three more minutes.

That is probably why the DA up?d the charges.

Apparently the far right is also creating chaos.
