President Trump

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
I did a ride along in the LBC last year. I encourage all to do the same. The one thing my host made clear was how woefully understaffed the police were. The help of the national guard would free up the main force to enforce and not be overwhelmed every night which leads to overall ineffective policing. I would welcome the national guard in my town!👍🏽👍🏽🇺🇸

I’m puzzled why anyone but criminals would bemoan the Nat Guard patrolling their streets. I love the heavy OCSD presence in Laguna Niguel. We can even call the non emergency line to have a car without a city permit ticketed if parked in our neighborhood 10pm-6am.

Completely agree. They should send military assistance to every crime ridden city in the US.

I’m puzzled why anyone would like a militarized force on their street. He said,

“If I think our country is in danger, and it is in danger in these cities, I can do it"

Chicago has a smaller per capita murder rate than a lot of other cities. Might as well just take away guns since that’s the problem. You can’t use the second amendment argument anymore since he doesn’t care about any of the other amendments. It’s not crime he cares about. It’s retribution.

If my city is so poorly run that it is not safe, then I would welcome any means to improve it. I'm curious to hear accounts from people who are living in DC. Are things better? Are there military forces out on the streets? What are they doing?

They already took away all the guns in Chicago. Chicago has some of the most stringent gun laws in the country.🤦🏽‍♂️👎🏽🦄🌈

It’s 2000 NG troops out of the 700,000 plus national guard members…hardly a occupation 🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂👍🏽🇺🇸

AI is so much smarter and less biased than morekaos:

You’re picking up on a claim circulating on social media that links two unrelated issues—Chicago’s homicide count (about 570–573) and Trump’s planned deployment of the National Guard to the city—and suggesting that one is the cause of the other. Let’s unpack what’s actually happening:

What’s Actually Going On?

1. The Chicago Homicide Number

Social media is playing up the fact that Chicago recorded around 573 murders in 2024—a striking figure often compared to national-level statistics, which naturally draws attention.

2. Trump’s National Guard Deployment Proposal

Meanwhile, President Trump has publicly announced intentions to send National Guard troops to Chicago, framing it as necessary to address violent crime, homelessness, and undocumented immigration. However, local officials and media reports emphasize that:

  • Violent crime in Chicago has significantly decreased in early 2025, with homicides down ~30–32% and shootings down ~37%.
  • Illinois officials—including Governor JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson—did not request federal assistance, and there is no ongoing emergency that would justify a unilateral federal deployment.
  • Legal concerns, especially around the Posse Comitatus Act (which restricts using federal troops for domestic law enforcement), have been raised.
  • House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries says Trump “manufactured a crisis” to justify political overreach.

So, Is Social Media Right That the Homicide Numbers Explain the Guard Deployment?

No. The close homicide figures are being used to stir controversy, but they are not the trigger for the proposed National Guard deployment. That deployment stems from Trump’s political narrative and strategic law-and-order messaging—not an actual escalation in crime.

Local data shows that crime has actually declined, and the deployment appears more aligned with Trump’s broader pattern of using federal force in Democratic-led cities like D.C. and Los Angeles.

Summary Table

Claim on Social Media
Reality (What’s Really Happening)
Murders in Chicago (~573) are the reason for troop deployment
Crime has declined; deployment is driven by political strategy, not public safety data

Trump is rescuing Chicago from a crime wave

Local leaders reject the claim; they cite steady safety improvements and absence of federal request

The deployment is legally justified

Legal authorities, historians, and local officials question its legality and constitutionality

Militarized has a bad connotation. Think of it as cops with really big guns.

Every time I go to Asia and to a slightly lesser extent Europe, there is a certain peace of mind that I won’t be randomly shot. I generally feel safe here in OC in the areas that I’m usually in but it would be nice to have that general peace of mind that I’m not going to die by getting shot across the US

Yah…I trust unbiased AI to tell us the truth….😂😂😂😂👎🏽IMG_6734.jpeg

Federalization of anything without proper cause is unconstitutional.

No matter who is in office.

Did you watch Daredevil Reborn? Total parallel.
6 people killed in Chicago and 27 shot…this last weekend. Double the murder rate of LA…and we are frightening…and all Pritzker can say is “things are wonderful”?

Chicago's leaders say one thing but their people say quite another. I trust the people.

Wake me once The Marigold Monarch federalizes The Palisades and Altadena burn zones, getting rid of Governor Dippidy-Doo and Mayor Brillo Pad, and thus allowing the rebuilding pace to go from "snail" to "ludicrous " speed, unrestrained by both the entrenched bureaucracy and environmentalist kooks..

Perfectly normal. Not fascist at all. Good thing Irvine doesn’t have a black mayor or he would be sending in the National Guard for package thieves
Irvine has had a fascist police force going back to the 90's. Driving while brown was a very real crime. And being Asian while attending UCI was cause for harassment.

Now there are so many Asians living in Irvine the police have had to back off on racial profiling, but the "America's Safest City" accolades over recent decades were due to these policies.

Well, not really a puzzle…most Americans do…

The new AP-NORC survey finds that more than half of Americans - 55 percent - say it is acceptable for the U.S. military and National Guard to assist local police in major cities.

How can the nation feel safer with a president who says he can do whatever he wants? There’s still tons of crime that’s happening in DC. The added FBI and DEA and other federal law enforcement policing DC is just an open invitation for more sophisticated criminals to operate more freely. Just like tax cheats, they know this administration won’t touch them.A339C9A0-7255-49A2-9A43-BD94EC453998.jpeg

I thought the safest city designation was from lack of crime reporting. It definitely wasn’t from police carrying military grade weapons standing outside Costco and walking through strip malls with assault rifles.
