But how does that help bring manufacturing to the US? Wasn't that the idea?

Let's ignore the point that such an undertaking is close to impossible for economic, regulatory and social reasons.
Trump supporters don't really use their brain.

First of all, there is no infrastructure in place. It takes years to set it up.

Secondly, and more importantly, WHO wants to do these jobs? Certainly, MAGAts don't want these low paying jobs? Do they want their kids doing these jobs, like those kids in the third world countries are doing? That's the only reason American consumers are enjoying cheap goods.

Let's also not forget that the potential candidates to do these kind of jobs are being deported by Trump. Dumbass MAGAts complain about immigrants stealing American jobs. Well, yeah, they're only doing the jobs that YOU don't want to do.

Keep clinging to fear… our system will always find a way with greed…there’s money to be made in this re-set. Embrace it or, more likely for you and the democrat party…be left behind.😂😂😂💰👍🏽🇺🇸

With A.I. expected to take 90+ percent of all "learn to code" jobs by 2026, what's left for American workers? Not "white collar" jobs - also a target for A.I. - leaving only manufacturing and manual labor. IUSD needs to ramp up its Shop Class curriculum as does UCI if they want to keep enrollment high.

Manufacturing jobs are often Union held and not "low wage". Non Union jobs like plumbing, AC repair, and electricial work also bring $$$ for talent willing to work. Don't get me started on medical service job wages.

Can an immigrant do these jobs at a lower cost? Only if there are employers willing to bend the rules. Plus, one often (not always of course) gets shiatty work done when contracted at the lowest price done by illegal aliens. That piece of the puzzle needs to be focused on during the JD Vance Administration.

I for one welcome our A.I. robot overlords. It's high time we return as a nation to making tangible things.

The good coders will just become prompters/architects, the bad coders will become better because of AI.

I still don't think enough Americans want factory jobs they just want to get paid to TikTok.

True. Good coders will be part of the surviving 10%, but look around your office today. Imagine all but 10 or so remaining co-workers will be left in the room. Like the dinosaurs wondering why that light in the sky was growing brighter every day, those in IT who can't recognize the inevitability of A.I.'s impact on their job, they will suffer a similar fate as the T-Rex.

P.S. - did you see this story? It's the perfect metaphor for the Tik-Tock generation thinking they can get rich quick because "I'm special".... Just like everyone else.

Are companies replacing finance/accounting functions with AI? I have yet to see leadership be replaced by AI. I don’t see that ever happening. Lower level transactional clerks can be replaced

The 10 percent remaining will be upper management. Middle Management and cubicle drones will be the sacrificial lambs.

I highly doubt that. There is a lot of judgment in accounting which AI is not smart enough to replace. I have seen a lot of outsourcing of accounting and leveraging RPA

I would fall in the top 10%. When you work at a public company there are a lot of things that need to be done besides just transactional work. Everything needs to be reviewed for SOX compliance, you have the preparation and review of SEC filings, supporting quarterly reviews, annual audits, etc.

AI will never be able to replace that.

True, in that today A.I. cannot do what humans can. Most A.I. has unlimited knowledge, but the reasoning ability of a 6 year old. The thing is, kids grow up and mature...fast.

There will always be the need for 10% of good workers, perhaps the "80/20 rule" will play our as our best case scenario. I feel bad for the 80% who just don't understand what's coming.

Yemen's Houthis have 'capitulated' to US, say they won't attack shipping and US will halt strikes
