A local will eventually sign... the Lakers have too much star power not to.

@ps9: So you don't want to commish our Yahoo Fantasy league this year? I can do it... but I don't know if we'll get enough... LL isn't active here anymore.

Well, life just got a little too busy after baby #3 (who is 11 months old today, btw).  I also decided to go back to school a few weeks before baby #3 was born to see just how crazy my life could be.  Also, work in the mortgage/RE sector has picked up quite a bit this year keeping me very busy professionally (and preventing me from posting during normal business hours).  Add it all up and I was one busy dude in 2012.  My only blog participation has been on Larry's blog, but even that has only been sporadic.

Over the summer, I was worried about missing the Lakers season starring "the greatest team ever assembled", but it turns out that the geriatric league over at Heritage Park would have been more entertaining to watch.  I thought about you guys when the season was starting, but I knew my schedule was going to make it too difficult for me to actively participate.  I didn't want to draft a team only to let my 9 year old nephew take over after a few weeks....  :D

My team has been getting crushed by the "injury" bug....CP3 hasn't placed in weeks now.  I know they are saving him for the playoff run and because his back-up is playing well too.

I'd rather they save CP3 then trying to play him like D12 and just aggravating his injury.

Bledsoe is an athletic monster... but his numbers are not that good... and he's no CP3.  Right now, if the game is close in the 4th, without Paul, I worry. But at least Blake improved his outside shot and free throws this year, makes him more of a threat. DJ still needs to practice from the foul line, but that's why they put LO in over him in the 4th.

As for the Lakers... what a hot mess... it took all this time to figure out that Kobe has to stop being selfish for them to win?

One day Laker fans are going to realize that Kobe is the problem.

How many assists did he have tonight? How many points did he score?

I know Kobe is going to be the reason Dwight doesn't come back next year. It was annoying today hearing sports reporters saying its ok for Kobe to question Dwight's toughness. I love it when the guy who already has made his money questions the guy who has 100 million on the line.

Yeah.. I totally disagree with what Kobe did. He just cares about himself... not the possibility that Dwight could injure himself even worse.

It's fine to ask him privately, but to put him out publicly like that... no wonder that poll said that Kobe was the person players would least like to be teammates with.

Short week leading up to all star break, slam dunk contest on Saturday.. starts 5:30 but last event so probably not till 7~.. I like the "Manimal" on this one..

With Gasol out, i wonder if the Lakers will even make the playoffs.. (USC why didn't you pick up Clark?  he should get a lot of minutes now with Pau out for 6 weeks).

and another Lin "dunk once a season" sighting...

and time to put away my hops for next season

Clips are at full strength, Lakers are banged up... playoffs are going to be weird this year if only one LA team makes it and it's not the purple/gold one.

Did anyone catch the All Star weekend? I watched both Saturday and Sunday but the 3pt and dunk contest needs some star power.

I like how they split it up be East/West but like the main All Star game, I think they should let the fans vote in one player per conference for each contest. This way we'll see Lebron vs. Kobe (or Griffin) dunking and Dwight vs. Bosh in 3 pointers.

Kobe will never do it, it will be like him taking a charge, never seen it, never will.  Same logic with lebron.  Why put yourself at risk for a dunk contest when you need to win championships... We're not talking Jordan here...

Well... they dunk all the time in the All Star game. They don't need to dunk from an airplane... just some windmills, 360s or a free-throw line tomahawk.  Or they can phone it in... but I doubt they will as they like to please the fans and don't want to be shown up by the benchwarmers.

Kobe already won a dunk contest early in his career.  It's a great way for young stars to promote themselves (like Blake Griffing jumping over the car) but veterans really have no reason to participate.

Also, I don't think the fans care as much about it these days.  It's not like the 90's when Jordan made his iconic dunk.  The novelty has worn off some.

So who's getting traded? Lakers say they are keeping Howard but there might be something else up their sleeves.

The Clips shouldn't trade Bledsoe, he was invaluable when CP3 was injured.
