Couldn't get Cox 1065 (HD) or 65 to work... had to do a system reset.

Still more fun to watch the Clippers... and they win their games.

Too early... Lakers didn't even have their full team grooving yet... stupid decision... I blame Kobe.

This is like if Miami fired Spoelstra the first year he had his big 3... stuff takes time.

I disagree, I think Brown is a horrible coach.  I applaud the lakers for making this move before they got further in the hole.

I'm not as harsh... Brown got them just as far last year as Phil did the year before... without Odom.

5 games is still too soon to tell. What if you only had 5 days to prove yourself at a new job?

He had a whole season + 5 games to prove himself.  What if somehow the lakers can get Phil to come out of retirement to coach this team?  You don't think that's an upgrade?  I was never a Brown fan even when he took Cleveland to the championship series with Lebron.  Professional sports are cutthroat, just the nature of the beast.

1. Like I said... last season, he sort of proved himself by getting just as far as Phil did the year before with less on his roster.
2. He has an almost new team this season, Nash is injured, Dwight is still getting into game shape and they put in a new offense... 5 games isn't enough.
3. I don't think Phil would be doing better at this point... other than running the same triangle offense, he still would have to deal with no Nash and integrating Howard.

But yes... pro sports are cutthroat... I just don't know who is going to be a good replacement because they are going to have to change the offense/defense again... and... they have to find someone that Kobe will listen to and is impervious to his death stare.

Mike Brown never felt right, Lakers are always about "Showtime", a defensive coach like Brown made the Lakers boring.  Yes the triangle wasn't run n gun, but at least it brought championships.  I hope they get D'antoni.

Maybe the Lakers should just keep Bickerstaff as the head coach... 2-0 under him... heh.

Like I said, I don't really think it's just the coach, I feel they could have beat GS and Sac no matter who was holding the clipboard... but I do notice that the bench players are getting more time now that Brown is gone.

Even though everyone was sure it was Phil coming back... looks like they went with D'Antoni... who I think is a good fit considering he has a PG-centric style that will benefit Nash. I'm just worried that Kobe will pull a 'Melo and try to use his death stare again (although he does like D'Antoni).
