Same here, I hope they finish last and get a decent pick, I think they do have a 1st round this year?

they do.  right now they hold the 6th pick. if they get a top 6-7 pick they should get a pretty good player.

The draft doesn't look very good past 5... and like many, it's a crapshoot.

This year's rookies are all over the place... Anthony Bennett is a bust but MCW is awesome.

AD (The Brow) took a year but is looking good now (although fragile).

Everytime I watch a Laker game I get depressed.  So I stopped watching completely.  I'm rooting for the Pacers this year.  I hope they beat Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Homie? Where were you last night? The Lakers needed a 5th guy.

That was so weird... and the funny thing is the Lakers were killing Cleveland short-handed. They need to trade Pau for bodies... not just draft picks.

I wonder what's going on with that Kyrie drama... he got sat in the 2nd half when they could have used him.

Should the Lakers trade Gasol to Phoenix? I think so... and package Nash with him.

I think Marshall is doing okay as the starting PG.

For the draft, the Lakers should get a scoring big... not sure if drafting a PG is what they need.

Forgot it was all star weekend, I'm missing a lot of NBA this season.  Believe slam dunk competition will repeat on NBA channel at 7am

slam dunk competition was horrible. not sure how they decided this format was better. outside of 1 john wall dunk it pretty much sucked.

they need talent at every position. the last mock draft i saw had them taking the PG from syracuse.  hopefully they keep on losing to improve their draft position.

In my opinion, I think there are enough serviceable PGs out there... what they need is a scoring wing/sf (but that's Kobe) so they need a scoring big.

But if they really are going after KD or KLove (and maybe Westbrook) in 2015, then they should look at a 2 (to eventually replace Kobe) or a 5.

Steps fix lakers:
  1. Fire Jim Buss  (Mission Impossible 4???)
  2. Fire Mike "NO D"antoni (He is gone at the end of this season.  Someone has to take a bullet for the losing season).

NOTE: I think Kobe deserve the 2 year extension 48 million.  Think as his pension plan.

I don't think dantoni will get fired at the end of the season. I think it depends how free agency goes. If they don't get any good talent that improves the team significantly then they will suck next year again so no point in paying two coaches. But if they get a good draft pick and a good free agent then I do think they will fire him.

I don't really care about who is coaching... Lakers need players.

They should have traded Pau. Yes, he's a great player, but as we've seen, very injury prone now.

I think Kendall Marshall is a good PG for the Lakers, pass first PG who can hit the open 3 if given enough time... perfect for a combo with "I need the ball" Kobe.

Starting lineup next year:
1. KM
2. Kobe
3. Wesley Johnson
4. Pau
5. ???

Would have been better if they upgraded their 4 and 5 position.

Nash should retire, maybe he can return as coach next season.

what really sucks for the lakers is that if he would have played in less than 9-10 games they could have done the medical retirement and his salary would have been paid but not counted towards the salary cap next year.  now they have to do that stretch provision and absorb his 9M salary over three years. a $3M cap hit with no player sucks, that could have been a decent bench player.

just checked ESPN, nash played in 10 games. the most he could have played was 9. one damn game is going to cost the lakers a $9M cap hit. Just goes to show how stupid Jim Buss is. you could see from a mile away nash wasnt going to be able to come back. they should have just shut him down before hitting the 10 game mark. For kobes sake the better get a top 3 pick. if they were to get Embid that would suck for kobe, he could be a good player down the road but wont help kobe in the next two years. Parker is probably the only one that can help kobe in the next two years.

I heard on ESPN that the Lakers may have done that on purpose so Nash could have options. If they used the medical exception on him he couldn't play next season.

If that is the case, props to the Lakers for helping Nash out even if he hasn't done much for them.

oh hadnt heard that. that makes them even dumber. first they overpay kobe by 100% for the next two years and then they use up 9M in cap space for a player who did nothing for them. Great. At least kobe has one 5 titles so i can see the loyalty side of thing with him.
