Any suggestions on keeping the hardwood flooring clean? I have tried that cr*p Bona product and it doesn't work. Why is it so sticky?

Don't walk on them!!! We had lovely hardwood floors in Balto where I grew up. They were 95% covered with, both area rugs and scatter rugs. Twice a year my grandmother pulled up all the rugs and waxed them with floorwax, which might not have been sticky, but was slippery, at least at first.

To me, hardwood floors are a perpetual project.

I thought the new ones were covered with something that protected them, but apparently not.

We had hardwood floors in our last rental and they seemed fine. We used a special hardwood floor cleaner and had no stickiness problems. Shoes off in the house helps.

I have hardwood floors throughout the house and they are flawless after 4 years. Here is what we do:

-no street shoes policy (so all of our guests have to either wear the slippers or leave their high heels stilettoes outside)

-no fancy wax or special floor cleaners, just a very soft mop and clean water. The mop must be moist, but not wet (so you won't have those little spots of dryed up water drops on the floor). The result: shiny floors (you can even see the reflections of our furniture in it).

If the link doesn't work, here is the MLS #: P610871.

I love that exclamation point after "Back on the Market" What's so exciting about that? And pics are kind of fun, I guess fireplaces are really important in selling the house, so they have to be photographed thoroughly :) And everything is turned sideways, is it already falling apart?
