Interesting/Amusing Property Finds

I looked at the front elevation, and I must say, I kinda liked it. Tho I would like to paint it in interesting non beige colors. De gustibus and all that. I assume that it doesn't fit into its surroundings. I am not kidding.

awesome house. but too bad i can't afford 1.5 million for that unique looking house.

do you guys think alot of the house was fraud? where they sold to say family member and did 100% financing? i just can't believe someone would pay 600k for that ugly looking house where there is stuff on top of the roof.

jbatzmaru,

I have often been shocked by how much people paid for old, broke-down houses with no updates in Anaheim and Garden Grove. If not fraud then it's insanity.

Cayci, regarding the little brick house...isn't that a freeway retaining wall directly behind it ?

I also like the boxy house.

i don't want to sound racist or anything but i been looking at houses in westminster and garden grove..... and they are all short sale and they are all own by mexican. could it be that the low income mexican family were target for the subprime lender? there were a few flipper and stuff but those homes are empty so i didn't see pictures of people and don't know if they are asian, white, black, or mexican.

Yep, that house backs up to the fabulous 91 freeway. I did notice that when I found it but forgot to point it out.

And, for what it's worth, I like the boxy house, too. It's unique. I like that. Same old, same old bores me.

STOP, STOP THIS IS YOUR DREAM HOME !! Close to school in a great school district and shopping center. Very quiet community. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths with a den that can be use as an additional bedroom or playroom. Pool size lot and beautiful glass enclosed patio where you can see all the trees in your back yard !!!

I grew up in that area (my HS was in Lake Elsinore), and there is a reason I left. However, it's not so bad to warrant $45/sqft.

Okay, when the lake was having issues and all the fish were dying and the entire town smelled...then it would warrant $45/sqft. I think all those issues have since been fixed though.

From http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/laland/2008/01/photo-of-the-da.html

The price has got to be a typo. Heck, I will buy it sight unseen at that price. Smelly fish can be dealt with.

Or, is this some sort of interfamily revenge thing? Divorced spouse or siblings inheriting house and doing each other in by reducing price?
