Interesting/Amusing Property Finds

[quote author="C Delroy Spuckler" date=1254562016]OK, I was mocking a realtor picture in my previous post... what's up with this one from your 10 Riverstone listing...

<img src="http://media.cdn-redfin.com/photo/46/bigphoto/019/S591019_0.jpg">

What... were there dogs on the property and if the realtor tried to stand such that the entire front of the house was captured, the dogs would attack her?

The left half of the house looks nice, as does the front part of the driveway.

This picture is just uncomfortable to look at.

Dear National Association of Realtors,

For once, rather than advocating looser loan restrictions, complaining about appraisals, or telling me how "now is the time to buy", please do something useful. Send a note out to your members asking the please refrain from hitting the caps lock key, from excessive use of exclamation points, and in the above case, periods. A recommendation to also refrain from the terms "resort like", "entertainers paradise/delight", "priced to sell" and such would also be viewed kindly.

I'm just saying, you know, caps locks makes ya'll look like a bunch of uneducated hicks.

Yours Truly,

C Delroy Spuckler

The robo-comps say that one is overpriced by $300-400k. Why do people do that? Do they really think they can get 30-40% more than other sales in the area?

It'll take some time to get the koolaid out of the system.

I think it's a purple lei. I could never relax in that room with the mean carcass on the wall, staring at me.

This house has a elevator!

First time I've seen that.

check out Picture No. 12/17. Unless I run a establishment called "BGK" and would like to dream of it every night, why else would I want it on the wall of a house I am about to buy?

http://www.redfin.com/CA/Irvine/56-Bamboo-92620/home/5931305

All pictures are shaky, but 3 and 6.. is to scare the potential buyer?

http://www.redfin.com/CA/Irvine/91-Shadywood-92620/home/21942142

Picture 10- ocean?? Probably to lure the "foreign" buyer who might not check google maps to check the property location.

I know there is a thread with funny pictures, but couldn't find it. Enjoy!

All it takes is a good camera and a few minutes to take good pictures and upload them. Lot of people base their initial decisions based on the pictures. Each of these houses are priced from 700-800k range and the Realtor is making a good amount of money on them. Why not spend some time?

I read someone (I think Sugarn...) mention that there are certain standards to adhere to- don't they apply to short sales also?

The house probably had a switchback staircase which wouldn?t allow them to put in a chair lift.

Elevators aren't that rare in huge mansions. First time I've seen one in an ordinary tract house, however. Cameray's probably right-probably a disabled person lived there and the configuration of the stairs prevented installing a chair lift. It must have cost a lot of money to install that elevator.

I?m getting seasick just looking at the banister.
