How soon until Bitcoin crashes?

Charlie Munger does not understand why people are not vaccinates. (I hope you agree with that)

Berkshire Hathaway?s Charlie Munger compares crypto to ?venereal disease?
Berkshire Hathaway?s billionaire vice chairman Charlie Munger compared cryptocurrencies to a sexually transmitted disease ? and added that he believes the Chinese were right to ban them.

The 98-year-old, right-hand man to Warren Buffett blasted bitcoin and other digital currencies in an interview at the Daily Journal?s annual meeting. When a shareholder asked Munger if he was ?willing to admit he missed something? by not investing in crypto, Munger let loose.

?I?m proud of the fact that I avoided it. It?s like some venereal disease or something,? Munger said. ?I just regard it as beneath contempt. Some people think it?s modernity and they welcome a currency that?s useful in extortions and kidnappings and so on and so on, tax evasions.?

I think they see something else...its why they are billionaires....

While Buffett and Munger may have a personal distaste for cryptocurrency, the superstar investment pair may be seeing an entirely different kind of opportunity in digital financial service providers like Nubank.

There is huge competition among up-and-coming digital banks in Latin America, where a large portion of the population feels underserved by the traditional banking and financial system. Companies like Nubank are looking to tap into a massive potential consumer market of people largely dissatisfied with the existing system.

?There is so much opportunity in the [Latin America] region. The combination of a great population, horrible customer experiences, and very high fees, it is unmatched,? Nubank cofounder Cristina Junqueira told Fortune last June. ?Worldwide there is no place that is better suited in terms of having a great opportunity for fintech companies to tackle.?

Although Nubank does not allow trading in cryptocurrencies, its investment unit, NuInvest, allows users to invest in crypto exchange traded funds (ETF), according to the company website.

Small part of their business and you miss the point. You really think they care that Activision makes violent games or that General Motors makes military weapons??or that visa bankrupts people??they let their businesses run themselves. It?s not an endorsement of every little product?.big picture?macro.

I am not the only one bringing it up. (many people have been saying his mix message) Maybe it is the mindset/philosophy changing. Just how they invested in Apple. Before they would never invest in a tech company.

Sorry. Buffet did not invest in tech for a reason. But he invested a boatload amount of money in Apple.

Was it because Warren changed his flip phone? idk haha

As Crypto Soars, Exchanges Decline Requests To Freeze Russian Funds

Binance was the first crypto exchange to decline the request stating that they are:

?not going to unilaterally freeze millions of innocent users' accounts. Crypto was meant to provide greater financial freedom for people across the globe".

They will, however, be ?...blocking accounts of those on the sanctions list... and ensuring that all sanctions are met in full?

Two other major cryptoexchanges, Coinbase Global and Kraken, also declined the request from Ukraine.

The CEO of Kraken stated on Twitter that the company ?cannot freeze the accounts of our Russian clients without a legal requirement to do so?.

A Coinbase spokesperson told Reuters that the major exchange "will not institute a blanket ban on all Coinbase transactions involving Russian addresses."

Brother and sister are charged in $124M cryptocurrency scam after 'lying to 20,000 investors about the value of their Ormeus Coin as they spent millions on real estate and traveling around the globe to Rome, India and Singapore'

John Barksdale, 40, was 'arrested abroad' on conspiracy, securities fraud and wire fraud charges for scamming 20,000 investors out of $124 million
He and his sister, JonAtina 'Tina' Barksdale, 45, are accused in court documents of lying to investors for years about the value of Ormeus Coin's mining assets
Photos from her social media show her travel around the world as the scheme continued from January 2017 through December
They had claimed in social media posts, ads and memos to investors that the cryptocurrency was backed by a $250 million mining operation
But prosecutors allege they had abandoned their mining operation in 2019 after generating less than $3 million
The siblings instead allegedly displayed an unknown individual's Bitcoin wallet as their 'Ormeus Reserve Vault'
In total, the Barksdales are accused of taking in more than $70 million from nearly 20,000 investors throughout the world

With yesterday's drop, Bitcoin is now lagging the broader stock market (S&P, Dow) over 12 months.  The current crash ($69k --> $43k) is at -38%.

(Although measuring a peak-to-trough crash is now called #cherrypicking by CalBears and IHO...LOL)
For something that volatile, looking back in history, they are pretty short lived ~3months. We are 2 months from the top currently. In the end, it's not really an issue if you're not selling.

Well, now we are seven months and 55% from the peak.  Still HODLing strong?

It all depends on your point of entry. It's still up over 300% since the start of this thread in Nov 2017. Up almost 1000% if you got in at the lows in 2019.

That's true...anyone who entered that market after January 8, 2021 has lost money...every single one of them.
