Biden inheriting nonexistent coronavirus vaccine distribution plan and must start 'from scratch,' sources say
https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/21/politics/biden-covid-vaccination-trump/index.html

From the article it seems there was nothing to build upon. This would have been addressed if there was proper transition from Trump to Biden. This mud slinging or disinformation by Trump and unwillingness to cooperate with the transition in effect made the situation worse for the American Public.

Well, well...looks like the "mud slinging or disinformation" is the the new hallmark of the suck up media...fake news seems to be the consistency here.

CNN ripped as Biden 'PR shop' after 'scoop' that he inherited no vaccine distribution plan from Trump
Mainstream outlets pan CNN's anonymously sourced story as 'not true'

CNN is under fire for publishing an anonymously sourced "scoop" that the Biden administration will have to "build everything from scratch" because there was no Trump plan to distribute coronavirus vaccines, when reality tells a far different story.

A CNN producer pushed the story from reporter MJ Lee as a "great SCOOP" on "how bad this situation is with vaccine distribution." The story quoted anonymous figures with knowledge of the administration's COVID-related work as saying there was "nothing for us to rework" and there was no plan at all: "just further affirmation of complete incompetence."

Just open already Boy King....

Two states, two VERY different COVID tactics.... but the same depressing result: California ordered strict lockdowns, while Florida 'trusted common sense' and now both have nearly identical case rates, hospitalizations and deaths
California Gov Gavin Newsom has issued very strict orders during the coronavirus pandemic with bars and indoor dining shuttered and most residents under lockdown
Florida Gov Ron DeSantis has issued very few closures and has been very critical of states like California with harsh restrictions
When it comes to overall cases and deaths, California has higher numbers with 3,039,044 total cases and 35,004 total deaths and Florida with 1,613,884 total infections and 24,739 fatalities
Adjusting for population, Florida has 5,043 COVID-19 cases and 91 deaths per 100,000 residents while California has about 4,595 cases and 51 deaths per 100,000, showing a similar curve
Historically, Florida was reporting about 44 hospitalizations per 100,000 while California has about 22 per 100,000, with both states seeing a spike in mid-January and now a decline

Wait..I thought he had a magic wand...thought the tides would recede...oh wait that is something else...

Biden says nothing can change the trajectory of the Covid pandemic over the next several months

Oh...there ya go..it?s fixed now. We are saved!! ;D ;) >:D

Now That Biden's President, CNN's COVID-19 Death Counter Appears to Be Gone

If you happened to flip on CNN prior to Inauguration Day, chances are you noticed a COVID-19 tracker chyron that tallied the total cases and death count both globally and in the United States.

Now that Joe Biden is president, that chyron seems to have disappeared from broadcasts.

The next month is already baked in. Possibly six weeks.  Those people are already exposed, they will get sick (or not), get hospitalized (or not), and die (or not) over the next month+.  The people in their families and households that will get exposed from them, will get exposed sometime over the next one to four weeks.  They will get sick, hospitalized and die over the month+ after that.

So basically, the next two months are in hopper.

Breaking the chain takes a month+.  Two weeks to catch majority of the first wave of people getting sick, and then another two weeks to catch the 2nd group getting sick.

And judging by my curbside pickup of replacement windshield wipers yesterday, it isn't going to happen as I watched entire families walk into Target will waiting for my curb delivery looked like any other Saturday in 2018.

Please keep the political rhetoric out of this thread. There are already enough threads about that.

Looks like things have calmed enough that the stay at-home order may be lifted today so things like outdoor dining will reopen.

I think I read that outdoor dining might not be allowed until later this week... but as we know, places are doing it anyways (and never really closed their outdoor dining).

Things look like they are flattening but it's when we take our guard down, stuff spikes again.

Stay safe.

Texas governor's hands-off approach to Covid-19 has allowed the virus to thrive
https://www.yahoo.com/news/texas-governors-hands-off-approach-100012728.html

California?s per capita infection rate is higher.

Our current per capita 7 day average deaths is also higher.

Texas has more overall deaths per capita, largely due to the July spike in Houston.

That sorta tell me that these strict CA lockdowns probably don't really work in curbs covid cases as my guess is that people then just get together more together at their homes or other places.  These strict lockdowns just increase the covid fatigue for people in general.  It's up to people in being smart to keep case counts down.

It?s all subjective. But when you leave it up to people they will do whatever is best for them and not for others.
Should people be able to drink and drive, text and drive? The driver maybe okay, but the other party might be dead or in the hospital.

I heard that excuse I am so bored because of the lockdown. But then I asked him how about the virus. If they get it that?s there fault and they might die and that?s there fault. (He voted Republican)

Unless there is strict enforcement, penalties, and/or consequences, there will most people who'll do whatever they want to do.  Heck even with all of those things in place, there will be that minority of people who still do things that are illegal and take their chances.

For people that don?t like masks or lockdown/shutdown. Florida is all open and no mask required.
But don?t blame me if you get sick or something. Maybe you won?t or maybe you will. Just got to roll the dice.

Exactly what Florida and many other states have done...Open/closed, the outcome is similar.  The open states are thriving, the closed states are imploding.  This was an exercise in power for the Boy King...now he has no choice but to open even with rising infections here.
