Chick Fil A hates Asians in Irvine

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
The thought did cross my mind: How do we know the cashier wasn't set up? Neither "Ching" nor "Chong" have come forward - only their friend, the RA. When the management asks - who are they going to believe - the cashier or Ching & Chong? Admittedly, I once went to a Jamba Juice where they asked for my name. I said, "Shaniqua". The guy wrote "Shaniqua" on the styrofoam cup and sent it down the line to be filled. He called my name, err... Shaniqua... when the order was ready. His manager had eyes as big as saucers and began admonishing him in front of everyone. The worker told him I said to put that name there, which of course, the manager didn't believe because I'm a white lady (plus I look like a nice girl who would never play such a joke.) I came directly forward and admitted it was just a joke - I didn't mean to get him in trouble... he didn't do anything wrong, my bad. But what if I wanted to get the guy in trouble? Or the restaurant? Or want some sort of monetary gain?... especially if Shaniqua was believable because I was black. You just never know. Ya know? Yes, I'm always overly skeptical of everything.

Let me tell ya this racist thing sometimes come in handy. I was the sole Asian in a predominately white, rich kid school back in the day and let me tell ya, until I made friends and established myself all the bullies left me alone  because they all thought I knew Karatayyyy.  We still laugh about that today.

This racist thing sometimes doesn't come in handy. You were the sole Asian in a predominately white, rich kid school back in the day and all the girls left you alone because they all thought you had a tiny dick. You still cry about that today.

Wow, this really strikes a chord with you.  Maybe I am just old school but this has never been a real issue in my life.  If you let it it will be.

I got a pretty thick skin...I would have laughed

I would've guessed more banana skin.

I'll admit, I would've initially laughed hearing them call Ching or reading my receipt, but thereafter would've had to bust crazy.

That's my point. I grew up in an era when racism was far more predominant and it was never a big factor or issue with me or my family.  Yes, we were fortunate but we always thought of ourselves as Americans first and were lucky enough to benefit from just that status.  Both my parents emigrated her after the war and made a conscious effort to raise us as Americans.  I am thankful for that and for the opportunities it provided me.  To my friends associates and clients I am me, not white, brown or black.  They have really never thought of my race.
