Cox Internet preferred vs premier vs ultimate

Question for you bandwidth people.  If you've upgraded or downgraded for different speeds, are you seeing any real world difference in download speed?  Couple of seconds here and there doesn't bother me.  Ultimate seems like overkill but I don't know.  The only time I can see needing some real...

What do you consider a big lot for new construction in Irvine?

Reading the Sagewood thread got me thinking of lot size.  I know you can find a large lot on resales, I'm not referring to resales.  What I'm curious about is what size lot do you consider big for new construction in Irvine based on sq footage of the house and what kind of backyard setback would...

Which SFR were you most impressed with at the Groves based on price?

I think we're all in agreement that all the homes on the gated side of OH are overpriced.  But for those of you who looked at most/all of them, which builder or more specifically which plan did you like best for the price.  Not talking grandest, most luxurious, cuz Trevi wins on that criteria...

    BMW ultimate drive event

Got an email to test drive beemers against the competition from Irvine BMW.  Got the same email from Crevier awhile back.  Has anyone gone to this?  Says $1000 towards lease/purchase, which sounds like a bunch a bs, I'm sure I could negotiate that into any lease/purchase.  Just sounds like fun...

    Woodbury Montessori

I was wondering what the hell they were building in the back parking lot behind Walgreens and it turns out it's the playground for the Woodbury Montessori.  I know nothing about the preschool but I gotta say, that outdoor area looks nice with grass and play structures.  It's huge too.

    Smashburger

Located at Malls of Mission Viejo.  In-n-Out is my standard bearer both for taste and cost.  But very few burgers are like In-n-Out.  Smashburger is similar to 5 Guys, Habit and Fatburger.  I had an original Smash, no fries, so no commentary on the fries.  This is a tasty burger.  Really fresh...

    Westvleteren XII beer

http://www.sintsixtus.be/eng/home.htm A friend generously shared some of this beer this weekend with me and the wife. OMFG, Best. Damn. Beer. Ever. It's a shame that it's so tightly allocated and ppl are buying it and flipping it.  Went for $85/6pack with glasses on release...is it worth the...

    Pieology

New place at Irvine Spectrum (original place in Fullerton, never been there), this is a review of the spectrum location.  Love these pizzas.  I mean I really love these pizzas.  For a single price, I think it was $7.50 or around there, you wait in line and move station to station, kinda like...

    Pappy Van Winkle bourbon

For those of you who are bourbon fans, Pappy is having their yearly release.  I picked up a single bottle of 20 yr cuz Total Wine wouldn't let me buy more than one. >:(. For those of you unfamiliar with Pappy, Pappy is the ultimate cult bourbon, with tiny allocations and prices to match.  Great...

    The Playground (Santa Ana)

My favorite restaurant in OC.  It's nice to get away from the franchises and bland menus of Irvine and branch out to a funky hip restaurant.  Let me eleborate: 1.  Cool vibe in the artist district of Santa Ana, people are hip and original. 2.  One of the best beer selections I've seen in OC...

    La Cresta at Woodbury

Heard that Brookfield Homes will build 4000+ sq ft homes adjacent to the San Marino development in Woodbury.  Interesting if true, since there isn't a large parcel of land in that area.  Is there a market for these huge homes in Woodbury?  I wonder what the lot sizes will be...4000 sq ft home on...
