Unemployment rate improves for those who most likely have a home or are buying a home in Irvine

Initially I only noticed the 10.2% number, but unless I’m reading things wrong: “For those with college degrees, the unemployment rate fell to 4.7% from 4.9% in September, as the unemployment rate for those in management, professional, and related occupations slipped to 4.7% from 5.2%.” = more...

Yes, I would be paying cash, but do you know where I can find information on the properties being auctioned off in riverside though?

    auctions in riverside

Does anyone know where I can find information on the properties being auctioned off in riverside? I assume one can find the best prices at the auctions at the courthouse. Ideally I want to buy a SFR in Riverside for under $75K. Do you think this is possible? Thanks for your help.

    Turtle Ridge Listing

From the listing it seems like there is someone living on top of you (Floors = 1). Why would anyone want to pay 650K in Irvine to have someone live above you?

    New Jersey

I agree with you with regards to the homes, , but with regard to the climate and geography, I think you are comparing things in September. Try comparing the two places in the winter. New Jersey will be cold and brown (no leaves or grass) and Orange County will be warm or mild and green (at times).

Buying in Riverside and renting the rooms out to UCR students

$55K is actually a price I could afford to pay at an auction. I wonder if there are similar priced homes going on auction at the courthouse in Riverside. What would be really nice is if there was a website that should a crime map of Riverside? That way you can tell which areas are really bad...

Has Santa Ana or Riverside seen the worst yet?

If the 8K tax credit does not get renewed, then it might have an impact in these areas. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Has Santa Ana or Riverside seen the worst yet?

The consensus on this blog is that housing prices will go down in the next year or two due to the mounting wave of foreclosures. I was wondering if this applies to the already hard hit areas such as Santa Ana or Riverside. I am toying with the idea of buying an investment property (SFR) in a...

Waiting to catch a wave? Surge of REO listings is unlikely.

I’m confused about the decline in actual foreclosures since 2008. It seems that the number of defaults have gone up since 2008, but the number of foreclosures for sale have come down over the past year. I understand that the government programs along with the banks being overwhelmed, has...

    CDM market

There's been a lot of analysis done on this blog showing that prices have to fall in Irvine, in order to justify income levels. I was wondering if the same can be said about Corona Del Mar though. I really like the area, especially the village, but it's out of my reach right now. Given that...

re-sales potential of properties with the #4 street address

I guess it's not that big a deal after all. Just wanted to check. Thanks.

re-sales potential of properties with the #4 street address

I know that there are a lot of Asian buyers in Irvine and 4 is considered an unlucky number. I was wondering if it significantly impacts demand. I mean, if I want to sell a property in Irvine that is located on #4 NAME street, should I expect to sell it for less than a comparable property...

Understanding pricing in the Irvine Real Estate market

If that's the case, then why doesn't everyone do that, in all markets? Price all listings lower so it starts a biding war. Are there as many bidding wars happening in other markets, outside of the IrvineNewport area?

Understanding pricing in the Irvine Real Estate market

I’ve seen a lot of instances in Irvine, where a foreclosure or short sales hits the market and it gets multiple offers on it within a week. What I don’t understand is why it is priced “so low” to begin with. I mean if the selling agent lists a 3br SFR in Westpark at 600K, and gets multiple...

    Where to live in Irvine?

Out of curiosity why is North Lake four places down from South Lake and not right below South Lake?
