Midterm Elections

The Left?s Year of Magical Thinking

Fantasies about the Second Amendment, the Mueller investigation and Stormy Daniels threaten to sabotage the Democrats in November.

It?s Wednesday, November 7, 2018, and the Democrats have awakened to the taste of ashes in their mouths. Despite the poll numbers and the pattern of history, Republicans have somehow managed to keep their losses small enough to retain control of the House. They?ve even picked up a seat or two in the Senate.

How could this have happened? Was it the gerrymandered House districts, the flood of dark money from the Mercers and the Kochs, the suppression of voters in key states?

Maybe. But should that Democratic disaster come to pass, a good deal of the explanation would lie in an aphorism often misattributed to Voltaire: ?I can take care of my enemies, but Lord protect me from my friends.? Some of the most damaging blows to Democratic hopes this year are friendly fire.

Stuff like this Scott Pruitt guy doesn't help either  --- if this is not THE definition of swamp, I don't know what is

Seriously - this dude demanded a bulletproof car, a bullet proof desk, and a 20-person security detail. Who the hell doeshe think is coming for the EPA administrator ?  Spectre ? Hydra ? The Legion of Doom  ?

(I sense we are about be bombarded with more random movie clips)

I don't blame him for a bit of paranoia. The left really hates this guy and he is dismantling serious money makers for some people that might consider a more drastic reaction to their dethroning.  When you are getting a ton of flak...you must be over the target.....and my movie clips are hardly random. I aim them precisely at the ironic and funny bones.

using sirens and lights to get to your favorite restaurant on time is the type of stuff you expect to see in emerging market countries and banana republics.  To boot, he also fired the security guy who objected  -- I am sure the white working class voters in Iowa diners exactly wanted this : )

"Mr. Pruitt, who often ran late, wanted to use the lights and sirens to expedite local trips in Washington to the airport or to dinner, including at least one trip to Le Diplomate, a trendy French restaurant that he frequented. Such use was not consistent with agency policy, but Mr. Weese was unsuccessful in stopping it."

For all the good he is doing at the EPA...I'd pick up his dinner tab there.

Good that you admit it .  Crony capitalism is what the republicans were always about -- not some free market / libertarian-ayn rand type stuff . at least in the age of the trump they are finally being exposed  .  And for that i am actually glad.

Even Trey Gowdy admits it -- "We've convinced ourselves that we have to win, because the country will go to Hades in a handbasket if my team doesn't win," Gowdy said, later adding that the current state of the Republican Party is rooted simply in a desire to win.

I am not sure how you made that leap but to me, "crony" implies stuffing your pockets with money, not turning on your siren and playing Mr. Big.  Crony Socialism is more like this..

Additionally, what's wrong with winning?  I so despise the lefts infatuation with losing.  It's why "Make America Great Again"  or "It's Morning in America"  caught on so well...Americans like to win, and so do I.

EPA's Scott Pruitt pushes back on pay raise, condo controversy in Fox News exclusive

EXCLUSIVE ?  Embattled Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt fired back at critics Wednesday, defending his decision to take a $50 a day condo rental from the wife of a lobbyist and claiming he just found out about a controversial pay raise for two of his staff members.

?My staff and I found out about it yesterday and I changed it,? Pruitt told Fox News in an exclusive wide-ranging interview.

When pressed to provide specifics, Pruitt said he wasn?t sure who would be held accountable or if the person who authorized the raise was a career EPA employee or a political appointee.

?You don?t know? You run the agency. You don?t know who did it?? Fox News? Ed Henry asked.

?I found out this yesterday and I corrected the action and we are in the process of finding out how it took place and correcting it,? Pruitt responded, though he didn?t say if anyone would be fired.

Pulling us back to the more interesting topic at hand...

The New EPA And Why The Radical Left Is Losing It

Perhaps the most important change of all, Pruitt's EPA is now operating under the proper rule of law and staying true to its mandate and defined authority by respecting facts rather than ideological fiction. The days of a rogue, agenda driven EPA are over. Pruitt is the right man for the job and it's no wonder the radical left is screaming for his ouster.

I would be marketing myself, calling leads, visiting clients, etc.

Instead of being big time on TI during working hours.
I don?t work on commission.  ;)

I have a pretty steady practice and only take on one or two new clients a year, and only by referral so I multitask a lot during market hours.
