    Barcelona at Los Olivos Village

Totally agree. The accent wall takes up a huge amount of space and made the small yard feel even smaller. It?s going to be a while before any ROI on these homes. Once you add upgrades and landscaping it?ll easily be $1.6M+. That?s SFR price in QH territory...

    Barcelona at Los Olivos Village

Low MR is nice but $1.4M+ is no small change... for detached condos with no drive way and zero-lot-line. Ouch!

Save the Memorial Park! Vote No on Measure B ballot June 5th

Next will be a vote to raise $80M in city tax to pay for clean up of the Irvine Blvd site to ?support the veterans? to make the cemetery happen. This will be used as a political wedge issue for Larry to get back into the city council. It?s a sad day for the veterans, who are just pawns in this game.

19,140 signatures to overturn Irvine?s decision on veterans cemetery location

That is Larry Agran?s real agenda. Milk this as a wedge issue to win elections as long as possible while making sure it will never be built.

TIC makes plenty of money elsewhere. But, this would be a huge blow to the upcoming phases of GP.

19,140 signatures to overturn Irvine?s decision on veterans cemetery location

What?s the point of this post? Both sites were part of the El Toro marine base. Its ridiculous to shove a site that requires millions of dollars to cleanup and veteran don?t want and call it saving the cemetery. It?s false advertising at its worst.

19,140 signatures to overturn Irvine?s decision on veterans cemetery location

I must say the slogan behind the campaign is a stroke of genius. Most people just can?t be bothered with the details other than the headline. It sad that often truth or logic does not win the day.

Gov. Brown visits Irvine, says ?absolutely certain? OC will get vet cemetery

Honor the veterans by forcing a location they don't want and can't afford on them? No way! It's classic political double speak.

    House price appreciation

That's all fine and good if you have little ones who will be going to a good elementary school for many years. But, it just goes to show they're not just out to maximize appreciation. Over time, other factors will far out-weigh the rating of the school in 2017.

    House price appreciation

All this comparison of schools in context of house price appreciation is just ridiculous. All the school in Irvine will be pretty solid for the foreseeable future. House is a long term investment. It's impossible to predict which school within the district will be better in the long run. The...

    House price appreciation

School rating within the district goes up and down. I don't see it has something to get hung up on for a long term investment. The trend for Irvine is toward smaller and smaller lots for same size homes. Ultimately, homes with bigger lots and comfortable distance from neighbors will be harder...

Gov. Brown visits Irvine, says ?absolutely certain? OC will get vet cemetery

It's a no brainer for Gov Brown to support the swap. The residents prefer it overwhelmingly and with Irvine pledging $40M toward the cemetery the state doesn't have to put in a dime to get a cemetery for the vets at the new location. It's simply good politics.

    Parasol Park vs Baker Ranch

Price in Irvine will hold up much better in case of down turn. It will also sell faster if you should need to move. These are intangibles that should be considered.

Altair - new Irvine luxury housing by Lennar/Toll Bros - not Great Park, not TIC

I'm surprised they're going to go big and high-end in this area.  Other than proximity to the new high school, which has yet to prove it self, the proximity to the jail and cemetery along with few, if any, views lots are huge negatives. Unless they really under-price these homes I don't see how...

Irvine to consider committing $40 million toward veterans cemetery at Great Park

This is utter craziness. It's completely irresponsible to spend our tax money to further Jeff's own political agenda. Nobody wants the cemetery in the current location, including the veterans.

    Hidden Canyon in Irvine

There are lots of other expense that goes with new home ownership a buyer, especially someone unfamiliar with US real estate, may not realize. For example, at least $200k+ in upgrades to make it somewhat resemble the model, another $200k+ for the landscape they drew up, $40k+/year in property...

Irvine Co. proposes 1,960 apartments along Sand Canyon Avenue in Irvine

    Hidden Canyon in Irvine

Latest price sheet from Capri. It's surprising that lot 247 is priced quite reasonably given the lot size of over 7500 sqft and considering this is the last phase. They didn't list lot 248 but it's supposedly similarly priced with nearly the same lot size. Prices essentially is the same as a...
