You need to retake a statistics course.  Just because "BMW" or "Asian" is a low % of the total number of accidents doesn't mean that they are better or worse than any other group.  If BMWs cause 6% of accidents, but they are 3% of the vehicles driving on the road, they are contributing...

Sorry, but I'm going to have to chime in with some actual statistical evidence.  I just pulled a collision report for the City of Irvine.  Here are the primary collision factors and number of collisions in 2015: 1. Unsafe Speed - 318 2. Automobile Right-of-Way - 140 (vehicles not yielding...

    Jury Duty - Excuse Rejected

I think they assume if you are employed, you can serve on a jury on a day you would normally work and already have childcare.  You can choose to go to the court on a specific day instead of calling in for a week and not knowing when you would have to show up.  If you get called into a trial...

TIC donating shovel ready land for open space?

Look at the link I posted.  Page LU-25.  The western portion (west of Irvine Lake) has already been annexed by the city (now zoned P-C=planned community).  The eastern portion (east of Irvine Lake) is in the sphere of influence.  The City of Orange General Plan included the sphere of influence...

TIC donating shovel ready land for open space?

How about you look at a map that isn't 9 years old?  "This map is for informational purposes only for unincorporated areas of Orange County established as of May 16, 2005.  Zoning classifications are current through May 24, 2005." "And come on, search." You'd find that the land "near Orange" is...

TIC donating shovel ready land for open space?

What zoning map are you looking at?  Seems like City of Irvine because 1.4 is an Irvine zoning designation.  If you read the article, you'd see that 1,400 acres is in the city of Orange and 1,100 acres is in Anaheim Hills. Here's a link with a map of the land they're donating...

    Repaving irvine streets

While this may be true with funding from the general fund, most transportation maintenance/improvements are from other funding sources (gas tax, measure M 0.5% sales tax, transportation mitigation fee programs) which must specifically be used for transportation. Also, many streets may look...

    San Diego Zoo

FYI, membership to the San Diego Zoo gives you access to both the Zoo and Wild Animal Park/Safari Park. Plus the membership payment is tax deductible.

    People Monitoring Intersections

Most likely this (although they're just called traffic counts and are part of the traffic impact analysis/environmental impact report), but it could also be for the city to update signal timing/coordination.

    Augusta at Columbus Square

Phase I is only grading and storm drain (moving dirt around and putting in drainage systems).  Phase II is everything else normally associated with street improvements (asphalt concrete, curb & gutter, sidewalk, landscaping, and for this project the bridge over Edinger).  Phase II probably won't...

A home doesn't sell in 50+ days and what happens (the story of 57 Gentry)???

Is this common?  I was looking at: http://www.redfin.com/CA/Irvine/65-Essex-Ln-92620/home/4791612 and the listing says 4,000 SF lot, but based on the assessor's parcel map, the lot is only about 3,560 SF (odd shaped lot kind of like a trapezoid, but with a curve as one of the non-parallel legs).
