Homes aren't prestigious. In general, few homes are prestigious. Some, such as the estates in the Hamptons or Malibu scream money, but in general, they don't impart prestige.

It may be nice, it may have a degree of luxury, but not prestigious. Owning it doesn't elevate your standing in the community, your respect, or esteem. I'm picking a bit on your choice of words for home impacting a person's value by the material object they chain themselves to.

Overall, it's a rather nice home. Large, detached, not too small of a yard, nicely appointed. It has an advantage of being a less common choice for elevation facade but is not unique. Neither better nor worse depending on preferences than several other choices in Northpark, Woodbury, Turtleridge, Woodbridge or Quail hill.

I have never seen one of these listing activities things but I think I understood it. Is that projected activation date the day they plan to market and try to advertise to buyers? Also, why would it have been deactivated between yesterday and today? IrvineRenter said this was for sale on redfin yesterday.

Generally the rate for REO's that I've observed is 2.5% with a flat-fee bonus to the agent (bringing the total above 3.0%) + $5-10k, depending on the price point of the home, for the buyers to be used towards recurring and non-recurring closing costs.

The total being offered by the banks to the listing agents (from which the above $$ is deducted) is maxed out at 5% that I've seen. Not all of them, but many, including CW, WaMu, Wachovia, to name a few that you'd expect. IrvineRenter should be subtracting this 5% (not 6%) for the estimates on losses on the main blog, but that's just splitting hairs.

P.S. FreedomCM - I recognize the home as an "Eichler" from your avatar. THOSE were well-built, economic homes. A very nice choice and very subtly apropos here.

Well, let’s face it she’s not model hot.
