Okay, I'll just throw out a place and time. How about:

Wednesday, 5/16, 7'ish p.m. at Dave & Buster's in the Irvine Spectrum. They have 1/2 price games on Wednesdays.

Who can make it?
Might be too short notice for some members...how about the 23rd?  And maybe create a thread and maybe Zovall can make general bulletin note about it when people log on....just some thoughts.

I agree that logically it would make sense to have more notice. The reason I picked a date soon is so I wouldn't have enough time to talk myself out of going.  :) If you or Zovall want to take over the planning on this thread, that is okay with me. Originally I started the thread with a weekend date in mind. However, I was told we can't do a weekend as we would need a guaranteed minimum of 30 people for the cost of reserving a banquet room to be worth it. (Too crowded to wait for tables.) So, I thought okay - we'll do a Friday, however Zovall has prior commitments for the next several Fridays from here on out except for Memorial Day weekend. I feel he should attend but I was trying to avoid that Friday thinking many people may be skipping out of town. Now somehow we got to a Wednesday. I was good with that if a few people I was hoping to see could go. I just got messages that they can not. I think me having created this thread implies I am committed to going. I would like to play it by ear since I can no long commit to the dates we're talking about at this point.

Not going down anymore?

It looks like that date & time doesn't work for anyone but maybe one person. That would make for quite a lonely meetup.  :)

Back to Square One.

I nominate Moneybags Martin a.k.a. Daddy Warbucks to shell out and reserve us a banquet room for a Saturday. This way it's less rush, rush, rush. If only a few people show up and it wasn't worth the cost... it's okay. It was only money.  :)  :P

Haha! Nice try. You're always looking for an escape route.

I hope this doesn't sound too creepy, but I had a dream about you last night.  :) That's generally how I know I've spent too much time on the forum. I dreamed I finally met you and everything you had ever said about yourself was false. It turned out you were a skinny white boy. I was very disappointed. Also, you were very stuck-up. Nothing like I see here. You were working behind the counter at a bowling alley. I tried to talk to you. I smiled at you. You were trying to shoo me away. You were actually pretty rude and it was sad. I think subconsciously I must be preparing myself for the worst. I have found that it is true. Some people you meet here who you think will be so friendly... are not. Others you think you won't like, you do. It's a big box of surprises!

Whoah... interestingly enough... I had a dream I was working at a bowling alley and some lady kept asking me to try on different bowling shoes because she didn't like the colors of the ones I was giving her.

I think the only person you have to worry about is Homer... he seems like a nice guy but in real life he's a tool*.

*Okay... I'm kidding... but I don't want to get PS9 jealous. But if I was younger, I'd probably try to force myself into Homer's circle of friends... I just don't think I could afford the dining bills. From my experience from IHB meet-ups... the people actually turn out nicer than they are online... but maybe that's because I look so scary and they're afraid I'll eat them.

IHO you are welcome to come join us for our food outings anytime :). You are only about 2-3 years older than I am anyways..

How old are you? I've gotten the feeling lately that there are more people in their 20s participating on TI. Am I right?

I'm in my last year of my twenties  :'( which makes IHO the Awesome Austrian about 32 max.

I used to look like my late 20s... until the grey set in.

I used to be able to cut my hair short enough to hide the grey... but now the beard and the top of my head betray me... grrr.

Will this work for me?

If it worked for Walt it will work for you.

Wow! I had heard from another credible source that IHO was in his late 30s. The fact he's close to your age is surprising, indeed. I need to update my file with this tidbit of information. You're both kids!

Man. I feel old. Add to that I caught some words coming out of my mouth yesterday that made me feel just awful. "I can't keep up with technology, so I'm going to stop here and let my son figure out everything for me from now on." As soon as I realized what I sounded like it was part shock, part cry.  :-\ This was after I kep referring to the IPod as an IPad. Mr. SoCal kept correcting me. To be honest, I don't even know what an Ipad is. When did I become my parents?  :'(

we were up for wed but open to other days as well.  our weekends are almost always booked though

OMG I LOVE this! A bowling alley? So random. Dreams are hilarious.

I was under this impression as well. I actually still believe it, as IHO has neither confirmed nor denied Homer's comment that IHO is only 2-3 years older than him. I mean, are we really sure we can trust Homer's estimate about IHO's age? Can we, Homer? Hmmmm? How reliable are you, really? ;)

I mean, IHO's got 2 elementary-aged kids, he's owned a home for some time, he understands and throws out many '80s references...I'm thinking late 30s...or maybe even the dreaded 4-0!  :D

ETA: And Homer, what's up with your avatar? It looks like you're in time-out, facing the wall in the corner...
