Mark my words...nothing will happen to him (again).  They are already setting themselves up for disappointment and I think they have all but guaranteed his second term....

What has changed in our national Trump nightmare ? and what hasn't

One of the distinctive marks of the Trump era is the perpetual sensation that we've reached some fundamental inflection point, some major shift in the prevailing political dynamic, when in fact nothing fundamental ever changes.

We've all seen it countless times. Trump says or does some outrageous, racist, corrupt thing, which is promptly followed by a chorus of pundits asserting, "OMG, I can't believe Trump said or did this outrageous, racist, corrupt thing! He's doomed! Bound to be impeached! Guaranteed to be universally reviled!" And then he isn't. Until the next time. And then the next.

Or how about, "There's no way his supporters, or elected members of his party, will stick with him through this latest affront against everything the GOP has always claimed to stand for!" This is maybe followed by a Republican senator or two grumbling about being gravely "troubled," and a 1-2 point drop in Trump's approval rating that lasts a week or two only to rebound as we all move on to the next round of insult and injury.

Is this time different? Will Trump's astonishing conversation with the president of Ukraine, the revelations contained in the whistleblower report, and the decision of the Democrats to pursue impeachment prove different? Did last week really change everything?

It did not
. Much that we have all learned to live with since Trump won the presidency remains intact and in place. The epicycles of outrage, hope, and disappointment are sure to continue as they have. Those who oppose the president still face unique challenges, just as American democracy writ large confronts numerous ominous threats.

Trump Job Approval at Personal Best 49%

President Donald Trump's job approval rating has risen to 49%, his highest in Gallup polling since he took office in 2017.

_olnpl8q6kaniutudvacvw.png

The new poll finds 50% of Americans disapproving of Trump, leaving just 1% expressing no opinion. The average percentage not having an opinion on Trump has been 5% throughout his presidency.

Trump's approval rating has risen because of higher ratings among both Republicans and independents. His 94% approval rating among Republicans is up six percentage points from early January and is three points higher than his previous best among his fellow partisans. The 42% approval rating among independents is up five points, and ties three other polls as his best among that group. Democratic approval is 7%, down slightly from 10%.

The 87-point gap between Republican and Democratic approval in the current poll is the largest Gallup has measured in any Gallup poll to date, surpassing the prior record, held by Trump and Barack Obama, by one point.

Same thing...it doesn?t matter if you were in before or after.

Another right wing spin or shall I say Philippines spin. No wonder why you don?t like Canada. Because the Philippines is having a dispute with Canada over recycle trash. It all makes perfect sense.

Spin or not Biden is toast. Dragged under by his crazy, drug addled greedy son...end of story.

Did you mark these words too...add that to the bank.

Impeaching Trump Probably Destroyed Biden's Presidential Campaign

When you look at the Real Clear Politics tracking in the early states of Iowa and New Hampshire, you will notice a pattern: Biden starts losing support, or some other candidate starts to rise, around mid-September 2019.

Mid-September happens to be the same time the whistleblower complaint that launched Trump's impeachment became public.

Looking at the graphs of Iowa and New Hampshire you see quite clearly how Biden's candidacy was riding high, the unequivocal frontrunner, for months. Months! Then suddenly the race became competitive between Biden, Sanders, Warren, and eventually Buttigieg.

Biden has never regained that runaway frontrunner status since the Democrats started their bogus impeachment of Trump. And it's quite easy to understand why.

Prior to the whistleblower complaint, Biden's Ukraine conflict of interest was not on the public radar, but thanks to those revelations, videos of Biden admitting to a quid pro quo, and his son Hunter's position at Burisma Holdings were being discussed and debated openly by media. For sure, the liberal media attempted to downplay the significance of Biden's Ukraine problem, but Biden, who was seen as the sane and safe candidate, wasn't so safe anymore. Even Biden's cheerleaders on The View couldn't deny it.

"Look, the Hunter Biden thing, there's a legitimate issue there," said Ana Navarro back in December. "I think that Joe Biden is going to have to answer that. I think that it doesn't pass the smell test."

?The Burisma thing is nepotism,? said Joy Behar. "And let?s just call it what it is. It?s just nepotism."

Biden's collapse would have happened much quicker if any of his rivals had called him out for his Ukraine/Burisma problems. For some reason, they didn't, and it took the Iowa caucuses to show definitively that Democratic voters have real reservations about Biden's Ukraine issues, and worried they'd be effectively used against him in November.

Democrats impeached Trump for suggesting there be an investigation into Biden and his son over Burisma, and yet their efforts to protect Biden may very well have doomed his campaign. The impeachment hearings became a very public platform for Republicans to air Biden's dirty laundry for hours a day, and the public watched as even the Democrats' own witnesses couldn't deny the obvious about Hunter Biden and his father.

People are changing. A Democrat defeated a Republican that supported Trump big time in Kentucky to become the governor of the state.

Kentucky.  We're an incumbent Republican hasn't won re-election since they removed the ban on consecutive terms in their State?  You're hanging on that?  We're the incumbent Republican lost and the Republican swept all the other State-wide offices.  That sure sounds like same old same old to me.

You forgot Trump was begging and whining to the crowd to vote for the Republican Kentucky Governor or they will blame him.

You wont address about people care about their money more than politics. The tariffs did not help the farming community at all. Congress approval rating is like 10%.

You think Drugs is a California thing. Btw: there were more opioids prescriptions than the population of Michigan. (Look it up)

Your not on my level. Please dont get me started.

I get the money.  You are forgeting that the coastal liberals have been screaming Fuck You Retards at the "Flyover" States since before Obama and frankly have gotten louder in their condemnation of those "deplorables" inhabiting them.  The question isn't do some of them disapprove of Trump, but have enough of them gotten fed up and screwed over by him enough to forgive the last couple decades of 'the left' essentially spitting on them at every opportunity.

I know several former Trump supporters who think he's total scum and con, they dislike the Dems candidates and distrust them even more.

But please enlighten us with your vast knowledge from sitting as a jurist in a single trial with white people.

Take a look at Michael Bloomberg. He knows how to run a successful business.

Looks like Hard Mike Bloomberg is coming up! Get it Hard Mike?s Lemonade.

Whew...dodged that bullet huh?  This investigation should bear fruit though..

Florida Democratic activists love Andrew Gillum. They seem oblivious to the investigation.
One Democratic candidate for governor draws big crowds in Tampa Bay. A public corruption investigation looms over him.

Failed Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum (D) was allegedly involved in a suspected crystal meth incident on Friday morning at a Miami Beach hotel, according to a local police report.

The Miami Beach Police Department report states officers found Gillum inside a West Avenue hotel room with two other men shortly before 1:00 a.m., where first responders were providing medical attention to one of the individuals for a possible drug overdose.
?Mr. Gillum was unable to communicate with officers due to his inebriated state,? according to the report.
The report states that one of the individuals told authorities that he entered the room at 11 p.m. where he ?discovered [the overdose victim] and Andrew Gillum inside the room under the influence of an unknown substance.? Gillum, the former mayor of Tallahassee, was discovered vomiting inside the bathroom.

?Inside of the hotel room, officers observed in plain sight three small clear plastic baggies containing suspected crystal meth on both the bed and floor,? according to the report.

A Miami Beach Police Department spokesperson confirmed the report and said arrests were made.

?At this time the incident is not being investigated as a criminal matter,? said Ernesto Rodriguez.

Interesting to read some of the 2017 posts in this thread and compare it to what we know today. Granted, it's all personal opinions and re-posts of news reports here. No harm/no foul as we're pretty much a product of what we've been told by the media on this subject. Your viewpoint depends greatly on where you get your information of course....

The one thing that really sticks out - all of the 2016-2019 quotes by "those in the know" about how this is true, and that is true.... Well, transcripts of these same people under oath come out and much of what was said in public is 100% opposite of what was said in private. That behind closed doors "under penalty of perjury" stuff must have a unique way of getting some people finally to speak the truth. I'm thrilled that Richard Grenell put the screws on the House intelligence committee and compelled the release of all of the "on the record, under oath" interviews. We now can see how everyone on the other side of this hoax was manufacturing BS out of thin air.

Too bad this all didn't come out earlier. The horse has left the barn. No sense trying to shut the gate. The biggest lesson out of this might be for some to take a pretty hard look at any story coming out of NYT, WAPO, The Atlantic, and others. Did/Does Fox and Limbaugh overspin things too far to the Right? Sure, They are sources of entertainment disguised as news outlets - just as CNN and Anderson Cooper are.

The bottom line - Shout all you want about your views and opinions, but trust none of origin stories that they are based on. As famously said by another "Truth? What is Truth?". How appropriate then as it is today.

you mean the conspiracy to take down trump, paint him as a russian asset, and investigate him for 2 years was all a farce??

Manhattan DA?s Trump Investigation Appears to Have Cratered
The New York Times reports that two of the prosecutors heading up the Manhattan District Attorney?s Office investigation of former president Trump have resigned.

Mark Pomerantz and Carey R. Dunne, two highly regarded prosecutors, quit the probe after the office?s new DA, Alvin Bragg, ?indicated to them that he had doubts about moving forward with a case against Mr. Trump,? according to the Times.

This is not a surprising development.
