It had to happen sooner or later. Once they decided to monetize the blog, they couldn't have a bunch of malcontents trashing their brand (even though that's what they did to TIC) on their own site.
I would have gone another way, maybe made it into a REIT and give Bren a run for his money as "the" Ultimate Landlord.

I think they are keeping the blog up... just not keeping the forums active (as in read-only).
So Mr. GraphForumBoardExpert... where is the option to get email notifications on replies to threads?
I still think it's weird that they would shutter the forums, maybe their clients were complaining about it?
And if they keep the blog open... won't random hater comments spring up there?
