For Trump, the war with Iran needs to be relatively short duration with few casualties and not too costly in treasure.

Both sides will run short on stockpiled premium munitions sooner than later.

I doubt Trump is looking for another expensive nation building exercise. He’s be happy with a replacement transactional type leadership in Iran.
