According to Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's, "electricity prices are up about 6% annually on the back of higher demand tied to the development of data centers to fuel growth in artificial intelligence". Nat gas prices have jumped due to demand caused by the extreme cold weather affecting much of the midwest and east coast.

And the basic inputs of inflation (wages and energy costs) in California, specially are both up significantly…not based on national trends but because of California’s oppressive taxation and regulations. Inflation here is not reflective of the rest of the country…we are our own worst enemies and unfortunatly, there isn’t a lot the federal government can do about it.
