If any of you watched the Kimmel monologue the night he came back... IMO he said worse things about Trump than the Kirk/MAGA/exaggeration... I bet the orange exploded at those comments.

Political satire is one of the oldest and most important forms of free speech. It challenges those in power while using humor to draw more into the discussion. That's why people in influential positions have always targeted it for censorship.

Trump (and other politicians) lie all the time.. and they are not comedians. Why do they get a pass again? Trump telling UN they belong in hell and telling everyone else "Do not take Tylenol". Presidents should be held to a higher standard than late night hosts.

As for the shutdown, I outlined my reasons above but additionally, every time the government shuts down people realize how little we need it. The government saves an enormous amount of money and it proves that half the jobs are worthless. A shutdown allows a ton of the doge cuts to become permanent …Either way the Democrats lose this …if they let the government shut down, they will be blamed …if they keep it open, they’ll be perceived as weak.
