President Trump

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
So are you admitting that Trump is gerrymandering? Doesn't matter what the TX Constitution says... what matters is the timing and partisan push.

You are as anti Dem as morekaos... did they steal your toys?

If he won 2024 with the lines as is... and no one else is redistricting... why is it being done? Is someone skurred?

This was like how he claims the vote was already being fixed leading up to 2024 and then when he won... not a peep. Can't be both ways.

And I'm with you all... is there someone other than Newsom who can run in 2028?
That’s preposterous - CA has to get voters to bypass a voter approved commission to vote in a map drawn in secret whereas TX is transparent and unimpeded by any voter - approved commission. The Dems all pushed these commissions over the past 2 decades - a major own-goal. Reality is Obama left the party in ashes and they will be relegated to a minority in DC for at least the next decade

chatgpt.com says this about gerrymandering:

California

  • Who draws the maps?
An independent citizens’ commission (since 2010).
  • Effect:
Maps are designed to reflect population and communities, not to favor a party.
  • Result:
Democrats win most seats because California voters lean Democratic overall, not because of manipulated districts.
  • Reputation:
Considered one of the fairest maps among large states.

Texas

  • Who draws the maps?
The state legislature (controlled by Republicans).
  • Effect:
Districts are drawn to maximize Republican advantage — e.g., concentrating Democratic voters into a few districts (“packing”) while spreading others thinly across multiple districts (“cracking”).
  • Result:
Republicans hold more congressional and state seats than their share of statewide votes would suggest.
  • Reputation:
Widely cited as one of the most gerrymandered states.

Florida

  • Who draws the maps?
The state legislature, subject to state constitutional amendments meant to limit gerrymandering — but in practice, partisan maps persist.
  • Effect:
Governor Ron DeSantis pushed through a congressional map in 2022 that heavily favored Republicans, eliminating several Black-majority districts.
  • Result:
Republicans hold a disproportionate number of congressional seats relative to statewide vote totals.
  • Reputation:
Currently under litigation and often criticized as aggressively gerrymandered.

✅ Bottom line:

  • California → Least gerrymandered (independent commission, maps reflect population).
  • Texas & Florida → Among the most gerrymandered (legislatures draw maps to entrench partisan advantage).

So chatgpt leans left?

Chatgpt also says:

Over the last 12 years (roughly 2013–2025), both
Democrats and Republicans have engaged in redistricting and gerrymandering, but Republicans have done it more often and on a larger scale.

Here’s why:

  • 2010 Census impact – After the 2010 elections, Republicans won control of many state legislatures and governorships. Since state lawmakers usually control redistricting, Republicans had outsized influence when drawing maps for the 2010s decade. Analyses (e.g. from the Brennan Center and FiveThirtyEight) showed that GOP-drawn maps in states like Wisconsin, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Pennsylvania heavily favored Republicans.
  • Democratic gerrymanders – Democrats also drew favorable maps where they controlled state governments (e.g. Maryland, Illinois, and parts of New England). But they had fewer opportunities because they controlled fewer states after 2010.
  • Post-2020 Census (2021–2022 redistricting cycle) – Democrats had a stronger hand because they won back control in some states and many states had independent commissions. The result was a more balanced outcome: Republicans still drew aggressive maps in states like Texas, Florida, and Ohio, while Democrats did so in New York and Illinois. Some of these maps have since been challenged or struck down in court.
  • Overall – Multiple nonpartisan studies (Princeton Gerrymandering Project, Cook Political Report, Brennan Center) conclude that in the past 12 years:
    • Republicans gained more net advantage nationwide from redistricting than Democrats.
    • Democrats gerrymander where they can, but Republicans have had more opportunities because they’ve controlled more state legislatures, especially after 2010.

👉 So the answer is: Republicans have done more redistricting (and gained more from it) than Democrats in the last 12 years, though both parties engage in the practice when in power.

But... the last 2 elections have been rigged by Democrats right?

It's the brown people wearing red hats creating all the problems in Texas.

Republicans pointed to the changing preferences of Latino voters, who swung sharply for Trump and other GOP candidates in 2024, to defend these new lines.

“Each of these newly-drawn districts now trend Republican in political performance,” Hunter said. “it does allow Republican candidates the opportunity to compete in these districts.”
