Maybe it's not accurate but 3 different sources state the same trend so not sure it's "total BS".
The bigger concern is autonomy of city, state, fed (ironic because that was partly the concern of the 2nd Amendment long ago).
I have a friend who is also very red and he doesn't think this is a big deal either... unless a Democrat does it.
It's ok... just don't think crime rate, up or down, is an emergency that requires federalization.

Still, that alone doesn't mean the crime statistics they put out are wrong. For that, we'd need some kind of proof that the books were being cooked, and lo and behold, we have that.
In a report published in July, it was revealed that a D.C. police commander was recently suspended for falsifying data to improve the city's crime statistics.
The police department's command staff is focusing on two categories in order to get the numbers to fall, Pemberton said: armed with a dangerous weapon and injured person to the hospital.
“When management officials are directing officers to take reports for felony assault, or if they're going back into police databases and changing offenses to felony assault, felony assault is not a category of crime that's listed on the department's daily crime stats,” Pemberton said. “It's also not something that's a requirement of the FBI's uniform crime reporting program. So, by changing criminal offenses from, for example, ADW bat or ADW gun to felony assault, that would avoid both the MPD and the FBI from reporting that as a part one or a felony offense.”
In other words, department leaders have been changing stabbings, shootings, and carjackings to lesser classifications like felony assault because then they will not show up in the daily crime statistics. Those crimes are also not required to be reported to the FBI, which is where most crime statistics are compiled nationwide.

Newsom is the last practitioner of performative politics. They’re all being swept out to the sea of irrelevance. The TX Constitution DOES NOT explicitly forbid mid decade redistricting, while blue states already shot their gerrymandering load. This ballot prop has zero chance of passing. Dems are screwed a million ways to Sunday for the foreseeable future without new leadership. They could do worse than promoting an outsider like Stephen A.

Of course they’re gerrymandering. They all do it. It’s just funny that when the Republicans do it the Democrat scream because they already gerrymandered all their states. Why do you think Massachusetts, who vote for Trump in the 30 to 35% zone, has zero Republican reps? Not one…perfectly gerrymandered years ago.
